Favorite found or made MOTIVATIONAL rip-off poster!!!

From the resulting posts it seems that people are saying her mother was raped and her birth (in '64) caused the rapist to become a father. That would hardly be her fault.

:wtf: What? Where did you get that from? The poster is clearly and obviously intended to criticise her policy on abortion following rape. Phoney indignation aside.
Since she was a baby? Do you have the same opinions you did as a baby? I didn't pick up on your phoney indignation but I will put it aside.

Yeah, let's go with this interpretation.

Thank you for agreeing it depends on the viewer of the image.

The mention of her birth year is both part of the reference to the topic - birth, babies, life-at-conception - and simply an easy nod to the "XXX since 19XX' style of adverts/posters, as it is a parody of a poster. And the author saved some time by using her birth year rather than figuring out precisely when she selected her opinion on abortion and confusing the heck out of the reader.
Your VP candidate fits the poster in her stated beliefs. I'm sorry but I don't see the sinsiter undertones you seem certain are there.

Okay, so the originator was lazy. Fine. It's not calling her dad a rapist. Fine. I don't see what's so funny, or sad, about her wanting to make sure women can make an informed decision.

Ok, I staunchly believe that abortion should not be legal as a means of birth control and that's the way it would be if I were supreme dictator, but even I acknowledge that that takes away the woman's informed decision.

Unless Gov. Palin's views on abortion are vastly different than I've been led to believe I don't think she wants to make sure women can make an informed decision. I think she wants to inform them why the decision has been made for them.

Congrats everyone...you've killed the funny.

Indeed!

At the risk of sounding pedantic, this fails on the funny for two reasons:
1) If your entire design aesthetic precludes the need for the second button, there's no reason why someone else having one would cause this reaction.
2) You want a second button on a Mac, just plug in an appropriate mouse. It'll work just fine.

There are plenty of things that PCs have over Macs. Well, two things, anyway. Price, and game count. A poster along these lines that's actually true would be funny, even to me; but this one isn't because it doesn't make sense as a criticism.

In fact, as of now, the *only* mouse Apple sells is one that has such a button (or can be programmed to have one, anyway). It's called Mighty Mouse. It's also been standard with all Macs for awhile now.

So the days of Apple being a one-button-mouse company are pretty much over.

You guys really don't do yourself any favors by being so defensive that you can't let any even mildly teasing comments about Macs slide. Especially considering that those Mac vs. PC ads are so completely full of shit about the alleged limitations of PCs.

I do find it funny that the two topics that can't get by here and in the thread bombs topic without sparking a debate are abortion and Macs. Priorities people.

It's a pet-peeve thing. Let me put it in Trek terms, this is sort of like someone saying "Star Trek sucks because the force is just stupid make-believe."
