Lorca by miles.
Secondly Stamets and Saru I guess, though I find most of the characters interesting. The actor playing Culber is doing a good job, and it would be good to see him get more things to do.

The writer have dropped the ball on the main Disco-character if this poll is an indication of what the viewers think.

We may be seeing a phenomena like occurred when I was little.

Norman Lear intended for All in the Family to be a progressive soapbox, but to many of that crowd's horror, most of the audience was laughing with Archie Bunker rather than at him.

You can appreciate the nature of a character like Lorca without advocating his actions.
I shouldn't have to explain why. I could, but I should not have to.

Have you met the Internet? Being mildly interested in someone's story indicates full and completed advocacy of their actions, as well as responsible for their morally questionable choices.

This is why I avoid Shakespeare.

One thing that this seems to indicate is that contrary to those advocating for "Gene's Vision", is that the most popular characters are those who are most controversial and confrontational.

Poor Dr. Culber is unquestionably the nicest person on the crew, and has zero votes. It isn't that people dislike him in the least, he just doesn't grab much attention.

That's spooky. I was actually thinking when I was replying "People who appreciate MacBeth are clearly violent murderous paranoiacs."

Possibly because Dr. Culber doesn't offer something new. He is more of the same, a kind, compassionate Starfleet officer who is worried about his love in a difficult situation.

And don't even get me started on people who like the Joker or Harley Quinn.

Even beyond that, obviously Batman fans support masked vigilantes operating outside of the law. ;)

He has stood up to the captains' chair twice now, once to Saru and to Lorca.

Lorca is my favorite by far. I wish the series was centered around his bad ass. He's the starfleet anti-captain and I just love his character.

The rest haven't really grown on me a great deal, and I could certainly do without Saru and all the Klingons. Although, in the Klingons favor, they are getting a tad more interesting. Saru looks like a medical experiment gone wrong from an X-Files or Fringe episode, and his character doesn't belong in the military. The whole Burnham/Tyler thing seems really forced. I liked Tyler better before he started smooching it up with Burnham. And Burnham is just a horribly written character, Sonequa Martin-Green deserves better, especially since she's the lead character.

A lot of people seem to say that Burnham isn't a good character, but I am having trouble getting a handle on what excpactly everyone finds objectionable.

Well, for me, it's all the build up of her Vulcan upbringing only to see her act so un-Vulcan like. I know, there's lots of excuses for that, but if she isn't going to act at least half Vulcan, why bother to have her raised on Vulcan from a small child? To look at her character right now, it's as if all that Vulcan stuff is just there to plug a few plot holes when needed. A lot of Star Trek characters never develop until after a season or two, maybe Burnham will be one of those. Right now she's just flat uninteresting and very un-Vulcan. I don't buy this Burnham/Tyler stuff at all.

I'd rather see Tyler and Tilly doin' the space shag.

After one season of ST: DSC - who is your favorite (major) character and did that change throughout this season (please comment below)?
I'm assuming you're not writing this from the future and actually mean after one half season of DSC. Anyway, I chose Lorca and L'Rell. I actually liked Burnham at first, and still do, but I really enjoyed how her Vulcan upbringing was being challenged by her experiences on Discovery in that fish-out-of-water kind of way, which is not as pronounced now as it was early on. So I'm quite intrigued by Lorca now, with his layered, complex persona. I don't know if I actually like his character, but I want to more about him, what makes him tick. I also really like L'Rell (and Mary Chieffo's performances), and look forward to seeing how her story continues while aboard Disco in the back half of the season.
