Favorite bridge in Star Trek

I wish we could have seen more of the bridge of the Zheng He from PIC. What little we did see, looked cool.

That said, here's my LEAST favorite bridge: the Enterprise-C. Lord, tell me that was the battle bridge, because it's the only thing that makes sense. I fully realize that budget constraints were in play, but that bridge did not look worthy of the name Enterprise.

  1. Enterprise E
  2. Enterprise A
  3. Enterprise (TOS)
  4. Enterprise NX-01
  5. DISCOprise
  6. Voyager
  7. Enterprise (refit)
  8. Shenzhou
  9. Enterprise D
  10. JJprise
  11. Defiant
  12. Discovery
  13. NSEA Protector
  14. La Sirena
  15. Battle bridge (Enterprise D)

1) Excelsior NX-2000

2) NCC-1701, 2266.

3) Kruge-Era BOP

4) Prometheus NX-74913

These actually felt the most like 'bridges' to me with great designs. The rest were too laid back/big/oddly set up chair/console wise.

The Enterprise A from TUC. I liked the exposed rivets and the diamond plate decking. And the instruction and warning labels on the consoles and doors. It actually felt like the inside a ship.

While TMP is my favorite Star Trek film, and while I love the refit Enterprise bridge set from the first 3 films, it wasn't until they refurbished the set for the Enterprise-A in Star Trek IV that the design was truly perfected, IMO. I would have loved for them to have kept this bridge design for the next two films, and even still, if you want to look at it from a certain viewpoint, this could have been a great sendoff for the TOS crew altogether.

Agree, The Voyage Home 1701-A Bridge is definitely the final perfection of TMP-WOK-SFS 1701-Refit Bridge set. It would have worked wonderfully if it survived to be used in TFF and TUC.

I’d say the TUC enterprise and excelsior bridges were the best looking ones, they just felt like a good middleground between the TOS and TNG eras.

Nothing beats the original for me, bright colours and all. Just perfectly designed, it feels like a functional workspace, unlike some of the later bridges. The captain can perfectly swivel any direction and immediately get input from their crew, each station is perfectly and logically located. NX-01 and DS9 Defiant are the only two that match that for me (if we ever had a 'real' Starfleet, I can easily imagine the ships in general being more like the submarine-esque Defiant, and less like the Galaxy or Sovereign class Enterprises).

The E's bridge and Voyager, and the New Trek bridges, are the worst for me. I don't really like how cavernous they all are. Voyager's bridge in particular looks like it was designed for a cinemascope aspect ratio, with Tuvok and Harry's little alcoves off in the back edges of the set a long way away from the central 'pit', which given the show has a 4:3 aspect ratio means they're often off screen or some distance from the central command. It always felt a step back from that perfection of the original series ship, that all these modern bridges have ship's stations tucked away in corners and behind pillars...

That was so cool, you could see and operate all the consoles, play little hidden games, even see a hidden BoP bridge...

The Defiant, for one basic reason.

Except for the few backgrounds consoles in the back, ALL of the main stations were to the side or in front of the captain's chair. No need to swivel to get input from your crew in an emergency when you just have to look to your left or right.

Also because it is the bridge that matches perfectly what the ship was designed for... battle.

Gonna agree and say, the ENT-A bridge from Star Trek V.

I also desperately want to see the DISCOprise bridge again...

How do you like the bridge sections in Star Trek themes?

From the bridges on the ships, Enterprise-D wins easily.

How I rank them (the top 25):

1. USS Enterprise-D, including "Yesterday’s Enterprise" and "Parallels" variations
2. USS Enterprise-E
3. USS Discovery
4. The Scimitar
5. Enterprise NX-01/ISS Enterprise
6. Klingon BoP
7. K’tinga class
8. Discoprise
9. TOS Enterprise
10. USS Enterprise-D battle bridge
11. The Kumari/Andorian battle cruiser
12. Kelvinverse Enterprise
13. Enterprise-A
14. USS Defiant
15. USS Reliant
16. USS Voyager
17. USS Kelvin
18. D’Deridex class
19. Valdore type
20. USS Excelsior
21. Nebula Class
22. TMP Enterprise
23. ECS Horizon
24. USS Enterprise-C
25. Jemhadar fighter

EDIT: Dammit, I forgot the USS Pasteur, which would be ranked in between the Enterprise-A and the Defiant.

The Enterprise-A as seen in Star Trek V. Best Bridge set ever built in my opinion. I was really disappointed when they remodeled it for VI.

Prefer the TUC remodel here. The TFF version is too TNG cruiseliner for me. And too beige.

Yeah. That's why I like it. In fact I used to think TNG should have inheirited it. "The Best of Both Worlds" a year later would have been the perfect excuse. The D was damaged fighting the Borg, much worse than it actually was. The main Bridge was completely destroyed causing Riker and the crew to move to the Battle Bridge. With the fleet in need of repair, and supplies scarce, Starfleet was forced to use parts from older ships. The A's Bridge was in the fleet musem after it had been taken out and replaced for the one seen in VI, and it was all they had on hand so they adapted it for the D.

Too bad that didn't happen.
