Benny: Would that make a difference?

PABST: That depends.

 

[Leandar]

Kay: On what?

 

[LeadHead]

Pabst: On who's doing the dreaming.

 

[Enterprise1981]

KAY: Well, obviously someone, er, someone without a lot of hope. A shoeshine boy, a convict, someone dreaming of a better future.

 

[LeadHead]

Pabst: A Negro.

 

[Admiral Shran]

DARLENE: Yeah. Well, I suppose it'd have to be if he was dreaming about a Negro captain.

 

[Leandar]

Herbert: Wait a minute. Making it a dream guts the story.

 

[Admiral Shran]

PABST: SHUT UP, HERB!

 

[Alienesse]

JULIUS: I think it makes it more poignant.

 

[Admiral Shran]

HERBERT: What about the other Sisko stories? He can't make them all dreams.

 

[Alienesse]

KAY: Let him get this one published first, then he can worry about the others.

 

[Admiral Shran]

JULIUS: What do you think, Benny?

 

[Alienesse]

BENNY: I think it's better than chalk on the sidewalk.

[Harlem street]

Two girls are skipping on the sidewalk.
BENNY: Can I play? Hey, Jimmy, I got great news. We're headed for the stars.

 

[Admiral Shran]

JIMMY: Yeah, sure, whatever.

 

[Alienesse]

Jimmy keeps looking around, nervously.
