Fantastic Four reboot-- Casting, Rumors, Pix, ect;

This should surprise no one but it will cause some were intent on holding out hope despite the writing on the wall.

It'll probably surprise the film-mankers and studio.

"What? It's dark, gritty, has 20-something angsty people, it's somewhat loosely, sorta, inspired by the Ultimate Universe. Edgy. I mean, it has everything people want now days from a comic-book movie, doesn't it?"

I maintain the position that Pluto Nash wasn't "that bad." I actually got a level of enjoyment out of it. It's not a *good* movie by any stretch but, as a movie, I don't think it's as terrible as people want to make it out to be.

It's very, very, flawed but, I dunno. I more-or-less liked it.

The Corman F4 movie remains the "best" one to date. Which either says a lot or nothing at all.

Personally, what I took away from those initial interviews is that the film is being received with reactions that more or less amount to a collective 'meh', which doesn't mean as much, IMO, as some people might want to think it does.

The cartoon from 2006 was pretty good.

So it's not impossible not to #### this up.

The FF shouldn't be any more difficult than the X-Men or the Avengers to do properly. It just takes a production team that understands and cares about the characters and story.

Critics love to go on about the Corporate Marvel movies, but they are put together by people who really understand what makes the characters successful and iconic. On the DC side Geoff Johns knows what qualities make the Flash tick.

Why am I imagining Jason Lee breaking onto the set, trying to see the Thing take a shower?

If Reed and Doom are such supergeniuses, why were at the same age as Ben Grimm, and at the same School as Ben Grimm?

Wait?

Did Doom take over Latveria before or after he went to College in America?

To go from Gypsy trash, to child genius/sorcerer, to rebel warlord, to head of state, to would be global unifier is a stern game of hopscotch.

Does it even need to "bomb"?

Just looking at the Amazing Spider-Man 2 wiki page, it made nearly three times its budget in box office... but in 15 months from its release we've already cast a new Peter Parker, he's filmed scenes for Cap 3, and the characters already been (kinda) mentioned in a MCU movie.

Is that child (who is singing.) supposed to be famous?

The movie house didn't give them enough clips, and they were so moronic as to prove that by looping the clips over and over again.

Sure it works for FOX News, but this isn't the News, it's supposed to be important.

Yeah the Marvel Studio movies might come across a bit safe and formulaic at times, but there's no denying they at least know how to make their characters look really cool on screen, enough to actually get people excited to see them.

The people behind THIS movie though just didn't seem to have a clue, and seemed to make the wrong choice at pretty much every turn. From casting to tone to director to story.

It was discovered inside the recent Sony hack/wikileaks dump, that Andrew lost his job after pissing off the Billionaires in charge of Sony by snubbing a fancy shmancy meet and greet.

It was a "fuck me? Fuck me? No, Fuck you!" dealio.

The formula is getting a little tiring but I have faith that there will be more innovations as we enter Phase III. That even said, even the worst of the Marvel films are still watchable and fun.

yeah...

Just checked Josh Trank's IMDB page, no upcoming projects post Fantastic 4. His career is pretty much dead at this point.

How can one man blow it so hard?
