Fantastic Four reboot-- Casting, Rumors, Pix, ect;

I'd find this more interesting if most of the dialogue in the trailers weren't so corny and cliche-laden. I'm afraid I find myself laughing at lines that are supposed to be serious or inspiring.

I like it, I'm not saying it's great but I like it. I'm looking forward to seeing this at some point, probably when it hits On-Demand.

Man, if even a trailer can't get me remotely excited for this movie, I can't imagine how dull and lifeless I'll find the actual movie. There's just nothing about this that is grabbing me right now (the actors, the tone, the effects, the costumes...)

In fact I doubt I'll even feel tempted to rent it from Redbox at some point down the road. It just looks that forgettable.

That was the best trailer yet. Looks good to me, although I'm probably going to wait until I see what kind of reaction it gets on here and other sites before deciding if I'm going to see it in theaters or Netflix it.

As silly as a rock wearing pants might be
It's not that silly. He's still a man, a man who is mentally used to wearing pants.

As to the trailer, it all looks very nice and all...but as others have said, I just don't find myself caring much.

Or not to dark. That is the question. My answer is "Not. Please."

They made a mistake with Sue. She looks like Sue.

I think Fox should just stick to X-Men, Fantastic Four i think should go back to Marvel Studios as FF screams MCU all the way. I mean Galactus and Silver Surfer would have potential in a Guardians sequel.

I honestly keep forgetting this movie is a thing and am sort of surprised/re-reminded whenever I see a trailer or poster for it. It has ad zero impact on me.

I do wonder if the Marvel banner will help it make money with the kind of film-goers who don't know the difference between Marvel and MCU. And if it does, what will they think of it? I figure it'll be a moderate success at worst.

Well, it is from Fox, the same studio that does the X-Men franchise, so it's not as if they have no success with Marvel movies. Then again, they also did the previous two Fantastic Four films, and a few X-Men misfires.

In fact, it's been rumored that Bryan Singer is being courted to do the next FF film, which some have taken as evidence of plans for an FF/X-Men crossover movie. But I doubt that will happen unless this film does well. And though I'd really like it to be good, I'm not encouraged by the dialogue I'm hearing in the trailers.

I wasn't saying that Fox hasn't made any good Marvel movies. Heck, they were doing it before Marvel were.

This goes for me too. Not saying it will suck, hey it could be awesome, but just that so far nothing has grabbed me about me about this movie. The cast just all look so damn lifeless.

I'll go see it because my friend and I always go see Marvel movies, but can't say I'm excited in anyway.

Yeah I'm not really dying to see Ant-Man either, to be honest. But it's at least got Paul Rudd in it and looks like it has the potential to be kinda cool and fun.

But I'm not sensing any of that at all with this movie.

The first trailer on youtube left me cold until I saw it again on a big screen, it does look more impressive on the BS. 'Course that doesn't mean it's any good.

Never been big on FF but here, it at least seems to have broken the mold which (imo) doomed the previous versions; too much like the comics. Here, the campyness is gone, and Thing looks like a thing and not just a guy in a suit, and a sense of real danger is present.

For me though it probably is going to come down to its score on RT after a couple of weeks pass. That's usually a good indicator for a film having a real heartbeat or not. (ime)

I think it looks good.

As for hokey dialogue, frankly, I take that as a given in most blockbuster movies these days, with the odd obvious honourable exception.

People were getting all excited here the other day about a trailer for some MTV series based on Shannara - which books, granted, I think are complete shit - that opened with some critter intoning "It has begun!"

Can't get any hokier and over-familiar than that.

Fortunately they followed that line up with a lot of long shots of young actors in cloaks walking through CG-rendered landscapes indicating that the series would be Quality. ;)
