Fan Film Friday

It's been a few months since I reviewed any independent productions, so I decided to follow up the last one I did lo those many moons ago. That entry looked at the fourth episode of Star Trek: The Romulan Wars, and it seemed logical to pick up where we left off.

"The Wounded" is the fifth episode in the Wars series, and you can find my review of it here: http://scifipulse.net/?p=49855

However, I'm still struggling with financial problems, so I can't outright promise there'll be new reviews every week yet, but I'll do the best I can (and if anyone knows of a job regarding writing/editing/proofreading/copy editing in the Washington, D.C., area, let me know.). (End of commercial break.)

This week, we take a look at the newest offering from Star Trek: Phase II entitled "Enemy: Starfleet!" It's got Kirk the way he should be portrayed, Barbara Luna (Marlena Moreau from the original series episode "Mirror, Mirror") as a space terrorist and an armor-plated Constitution-class warship.

Here's the link: http://scifipulse.net/?p=50322

Another week gone, another Fan Film Friday to enjoy! This time around, we take a look at the worst crew in the Galactic Union in the first of a series of 10 short comedies, and we have an FFF Extra featuring a brief computer-generated production that honors the Rocketeer!

Just a quick note: If you go to the link in the post above, you're probably going to see some extra bold text floating around, and the links to see Voyage Trekkers and The Rocketeer are messed up. I'm told it's a technical problem that is being worked on even as I type this message. Sorry about that!

Well, it took a while, but the latest Fan Film Friday is finally finished! (Always avoid alliteration!) If you weren't able to enjoy the brief films we're showcasing in this edition of FFF, go back now and get caught up because we'll have a new edition tomorrow. And as a hint, we'll kind of "slither in" the new review.

There's magic in the air this week as James Potter (Harry's son) and his friends struggle to solve the mystery of "the Curse of the Gatekeeper." This fan film takes place about 19 years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, so if you want more adventure in the "Potterverse," this FFF is for you!

This week's Triple-F puts the spotlight on an animated Star Trek independent production called Mariner, which features a diverse crew that doesn't always get along on its maiden voyage even though its weaponry is brand new. Can this new starship and untested crew defeat both the Klingons and the Romulans?

You can find out here:

Thanks for the heads-up on the Harry Potter fan films. I know my sister and I will enjoy these!

My pleasure, doubleohfive. I try to mix in a variety of projects since (1) there aren't enough new Trek productions to cover all 52 weeks in the year; and (2) introduce readers (and myself, for that matter) to the wide range of cool fan projects. :bolian:

It's Friday at last, so it's time to take in other independent productions. While many fan films deal with galaxy-wide star wars, this week we're switching to two shorter and more intimate, personal stories in Starship Farragut's Crew Logs.

If you like romance and action, you'll want to take in "Just Passing Through" and "A Rock and a Hard Place." Enjoy!

Better late than never! I was told that the SciFiPulse.net Website would be down for a few days, but it ending up lasting only a few hours!

So we've got a heaping helping in our second review of the sci-fi fan comedy series called Voyage Trekkers.

This week's Fan Film Friday features a short film by Jesse Griffith called Cockpit: "The Rule of Engagement." In the future, Earth is fighting a war against a race that can take over your mind if you make eye contact with one of them, and a pilot who's running out of air seeks help from a carrier captain (Ronny Cox), but has he been corrupted by the enemy?

Enjoy!
