^^^^^ Treating things with ultra-seriousness can be worse than pure humour. I'm most comfortable inbetween, mixing up humour and seriousness.
In this thread I think the need for simple practical answers wasn't felt to be urgent... we knew we'd get to stating them eventually.
It doesn't help that the real answers are kinda boring.

Nothing to worry about there. The Crab Nebula is way too far away for any radiation bursts to effect us at all.I should say...How does this effect us here on Earth? What is the significance of these flares?
