Fallout: The Television Series

I'm not sure how I feel about that finale. It feels like we're right back where we were after the season 1 finale. I was a little confused about the extended Hank scene. Did he reset himself? I wonder what Phase 2 is, and there was no Betty in this finale. I think it did the job of setting up the future season, but I can't help but think other than being in a different location, it was just like how we ended Season 1. Maybe some of the other posts here can help clarify a few things.

I thought season 2 was great, maybe a bit compressed but definitely enjoyable on the whole. It’s a great mix of fun, mystery and crazy

They set up a lot for season 3, i hope they flesh it out a bit more. You need more than 8 episodes i think. And i do hope we get more answers

Had to google what they were talking about in the post credits scene and that sounds awesome!

So when Hank resets, or whatever, he doesn’t have his memories does he? He didn’t recognize Lucy

Maximus didn’t say too much but i love the actor and his delivery, he’s great. Most underrated part of the show

A great season, immensely enjoyable and it's amazing how a young actress like Ela Purnell is able to carry the entire show. Her last scene with Hank was heartbreaking and it's all her and veteran Kyle McLachlan, amazing.

I know that's how cliffhangers work but this fel more like a midseason finale of a far longer season so i'm ready for season 3 when that comes where we hopefully find out what Phase Two is, if Coop ever finds his family ( i'm not sure i like that they are moving the storylines so far apart or how or if they plan to bring the group together again).

It's cool that the show is continuing to write the meta-story of the Wasteland after the most recent game and that it is developing - next season will see all out war between the Legion and the NCR, possibly the remnants of the Brotherhood getting involved and above all the Enclave likely making overt moves now. Too bad we'll have to wait another 1-2 years to see this play out.

oh ok

well in a way its a good thing that it is kinda not like the old days of tv shows because if this was then there would have been at least 20 to 26 episodes per season

An old argument - which is better. 20-26 leaves more space to gradually develop characters at the cost of a few substandard episodes and actual filler episodes to pad out the season.

6-8 episodes either leaves characters underdeveloped, making it hard to create attachment or they concentrate on a tight little group to do it right which can cause other problems such as insane plot armor because you can't lose any of this small group.

Fallout does it well enough with their 8 episode seasons and so far the writing has held up very well with their short seasons.

Personally i think the sweetspot should be around 12-16 episodes, this would make filler episodes obsolote and you can dive better into characters and plotlines without it feeling rushed but it will also make the episodes/seasons far more costlier and take much longer to produce, which may be the real reason for the shortened seasons.

Yeah, I see a lot of 13 episode seasons, and that tends to be my preference, it's long enough that you can get deeper into the characters and story arcs, but not so long that things feel dragged out.
there's a post credits scene fyi
Thanks, I didn't know that, so I had to go back and watch it.
I really enjoyed the finale and the overall season.
For me the biggest surprises were Hank's and Bud's Buds fates, that was not how expected either of those stories to end.
I was not expecting to see the NCR, after The Ghoul ran into the two NCR soldiers, I had assumed that was all we'd see of them.
I'm curious exactly House is up too, since he appeared to be pretending to offline when Lucy and Maximus went up into his penthouse.
I'm really disappointed they seem to be sending The Ghoul off to head for Colorado, I was really looking forward to the core trio of Lucy, The Ghoul, and Maximus finally being together again.
I'm very curious what they're going to do with Hank now that his mind has been wiped.
Definitely some interesting set up and reveals here with The Enclave, I'm curious to see exactly what Phase 2 is, and how long it will be before we get more of an idea what their endgame is. I'm also hoping for more of an explanation of what exactly Hank meant when he said the surface was the experiment.
I was a little surprised by the post credits scene, I had assumed we were done with The Brotherhood now that Maximus left them. I looked up Liberty Prime on the Fallout Wiki, and now I'm very curious to see what's going to happen with that.
Do we know if the show's creators are planning a specific number of seasons? It kind of feels like we might be reaching big turning point in the show, and if we're not heading toward it ending soon, we're at least done with the beginning.

His mind has been wiped.
I noticed, but after his last conversation with Lucy, his heart seemed to have stopped. Anyway, I was initially disappointed that Lucy decided to use 'that' device instead of killing him; I think Hank's brains should have been blown out. I think that would have been a nice character transformation.

Lucy didn't do it, he did it to himself. He had a controller in his hand too, and he hit the button. She actually tried to stop him once she realized what he was about to do. I kind of got the impression he was starting to say more about what was going on than he should, so he did that to stop himself from saying anything more to her.
Do we know anything about the next game? I'm curious if they'll incorporate stuff from the show into future games.

Storywise i'm sure depending on where and when the game is set. Might also be that they completely stay away from the west coast and go somewhere that hasn't been covered yet in the game or the show.

If they run alongside the show though i'm sure they won't be able to resist incorporating the show characters for a side quest or so as an easter egg.

I was thinking more about the big picture stuff with The Enclave being the ones behind the bombs and all of that. Or was all of that already revealed in the games?

I don't think so but then again i haven't finished Fallout 4, played New Vegas or Fallout 76 so i may have missed a ton.

Funny thing i just read this evening. Apparently there was a counter running down to coincide with the season finale and fans of course started all kinds of discussions what would happen and chief amongst the wishlisting was remasters of Fallout New Vegas and/or Fallout 3 i believe. Turns out it was just a 3d explorable Vegas Lucky 38 casino or somesuch.

Those same fans are now on social media angry as hell, i even read "Fuck Bethesda!" multiple times, which is funny to me because nowhere i know of did Bethesda or anyone else in the know even hinted at remasters or anything substantial yet fans worked themselves up into a frenzy and launching their own wishlists and when these turned out to be false the pitchforks came out. Fans sometimes.. :brickwall:
