Fallout: The Television Series

Fallout universe has a diversion point from ours, and the big part was microprocessor chips were not developed so computer technology developed differently as well as multiple other tech growth, like robots and moving towards nuclear powered everything.

But, the bombs will not drop until 2077, at least according to the games.

Go back and read post #730

Yes, but that's still a point in the future (approximately fifty years from now). I was commenting on the fact that, fifty years from now, except for the advanced tech and a few other things, everything will look it did in the 1950s or 1960s.

That's part of the world building, and emphasis on 50s era Americana and atomic age aesthetic.

This was a fantastic episode.
It was nice to finally get some background on Steph, I'm very curious to see if her story continues next so we can find out how she went from being a maid or whatever at The Lucky 38, to being high up enough in Vault-Tec that she got to live in the Vault, and be in a position to become Overseer.
I'm wondering if The President and Congresswoman are part of The Enclave, of if not how exactly they ended up with the knowledge to create another diode.
For a second there I was almost starting to wonder if Hank was actually winning over Lucy, and I'm glad she wasn't. That was definitely not what I expected her to find in the mainframe. That was the Congresswoman from The Ghoul/Coop's flashbacks, right? Definitely very curious how exactly she ended up like that, if that was her.
Hmm, so does the end mean we'll be seeing The Ghoul and House teaming up against Hank?

Game spoilers
The President is the head of the enclave. They’re a shadow government pre-war pulling the strings of the real government, and post war they proclaim to be the true successors to the USA.

About 6 months before the bombs drop the President will be evacuated to an oil rig off the coast of California

The Congresswoman, maybe. But the way they turned her into a head controlling the mainframe, maybe not.

I'm just about to read it, so I don't know what all it says, but EW has posted a new big "cover story"* about the Fallout season finale.
https://ew.com/fallout-season-2-finale-cover-story-exclusive-11893674
*I put cover story in quotes, because there no longer is a physical Entertainment Weekly magazine, so there's no actual cover.
EDIT: I forgot to ask something I haven't been real clear on before. Do we know exactly where the Vault-Tec building is in relation to New Vegas? It doesn't seem to be part of the city, but with Hank, and Lucy seeming to get their fairly quick, and the fact that all of the people Hank's used his little boxes seem to be from the area around Vegas, I'm assuming it must not be too far.

This season has dragged on a bit, this episode feels like it could've been shorter. But thankfully it's wrapping up next week.

Seems to be a thing with Nolan TV shows, they drag on unnecessarily and aren't as good after a great first season.

Looking back on the season as a whole, not a lot has actually happened. They really dropped the brotherhood (commonwealth) story really quickly, but I wonder if they could have done the season without any of that stuff. Kind of hard considering Maximus is there and he is one of the main actors.

I had a feeling they would kill Woody off somehow after his main episode, but I am disappointed they did it off screen.

I fully expect the Commonwealth Brotherhood is gonna swoop in final episode and take Maximus to Boston, along with probably the cold fusion. And Lucy will pursue, possibly with her dad and Enclave help. Long shot on that last part.

"She's Canadian!" :p

I'm glad we got a bit of backstory on Steph, we still don't know a lot about her though.

Well you know how the trope goes. If you don't see someone die onscreen there's always a possibility they didn't.

the sign for Canadian Internment Camp said Uranium City. Uranium City is a real town in Northern Saskatchewan, you can probably guess what they used to mine there.

I'm assuming they chose it because the name sounds very Fallout.

Why did Steph have her Canadian identification card with her anyway? Surely she would have gotten rid of that right away if she was trying to pass as American? Why even take it with her when fleeing the internment camp?

I don't think the season has dragged at all: for me it's been far too short. I wish the runtime of the episodes was longer and that we had at least 10 in the season.

(Shallow Ella Purnell in yellow dress appreciation comment here.)

I think Thaddeus is just dying. Indeed, based on Coop-Ghoul's reaction to Thaddeus asking about the weird mouth thing on his collar to having his arm falling off, this is just a run of the mill attempted Ghoul transformation that's failing.
