Fallout: The Television Series

It's weird, when I saw the exploding heads in this episode, I thought "shouldn't there be more blood?" I mean, there was less blood than we see whenever heads explode on The Boys.

But yeah, premiere was a great episode. The scene near the beginning with the Ghoul killing those thugs as Bir Iron played might well be one of the best action scenes I've watched all year.

It's very much in line with the game mechanics.

Yeah, but I'm kind of glad they didn't. The episode was already juggling so many different storylines that adding another one might have just been to much for one episode.
Ya we now have 6 on the go between House, Maximus, Hank, the 32/33 vault dwellers, Norm/Vault 31 and the odd couple.

It will probably follow the same pattern of dropping people for whole episodes until stories start to converge.

Well, I think technically the Big Bad is still gonna be Hank, but House will probably end up being an extra complication to things.

I saw in an article about the whole Mr. House situation that the explore and shop section of Amazon's Fallout page calls Justin Theroux's character Robert House, and I double checked myself and it does. So that does make the theory that he's actually his brother unlikely.

A great start to the season.

Man, every time we end up in The Ghoul's flashbacks, I get so profoundly uncomfortable. Maybe it's just because we know there's an unhappy ending here for everyone involved, but the past scenes are just so claustrophobic.

Having the sneaking suspicion they're going to string along Lucy not finding her dad until the last episode.

I enjoyed that. Mrs Xmas has been watching since the beginning, but with the way things get cancelled these days, I didn't follow it closely. Been burnt too many times by shows that I liked, made a point to watch and was then left hanging.

Now I've got a whole season to catch up with!

Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter

Some would disagree but I wish this released all at once like season 1

There’s a trailer for episode 3 in the bonuses

Second episode was awesome as expected but i'm wondering if and how all these storylines come together again.

Lucy and the Ghoul are in pursuit of her dad, so these two will merge at some point as evidenced by the trailer but so far Maximus seems to have a completely separate storyline with the brewing Brotherhood Civil War.

I guess we'll have to keep watching then to see how it plays out ;)

The Brotherhood guy from Coronado appears to be wearing a very similar outfit to Proctor Quinlan's outfit from FO4

Maximus' group, their Airship says Caswennan instead of Prydwen, so unless they have two Airships I think my theory of the airship model in season 1 being mislabelled is true.

Plus they're clearly not part of the 'Commonwealth' BoS group, so why would they have the Prydwen?

The Ark of the Covenant is in the same shot as the US Constitution, or at least a prop inspired by it.

As well as the Prototype Pipboy from the Fallout 4 intro shortly before that. I wonder if that's the exact same prop, Bethesda probably kept it somewhere

I come at this series from a non-game perspective, so my feelings on this episode are just based on a TV series point of view. With that said, while it was a good episode, I did think it was a letdown from the prior week. I think part of that is now there are 4 storylines to follow and the series might be spreading itself a little thin. I did like Paladin's entrance though and I'm looking forward to learning more about this geopoliticing that the show seems to be setting up. Before that though the botherhood stuff I can take or leave. We also didn't get much from Lucy this week but I will say that big scorpion was freaky.
