Fall Previews: What's coming soon in Star Trek fan productions?

That's cool CaptainKen! Actually I'd say their production is more of a middle ground between a parody and a serious series, but to each their own! We created an animated xmas episode last year and are very hard at work on the next animated episode. It will be very worthwhile and of excellent quality, but if you're not into that, no problem. We're all big fans of Trek and everyone enjoys their own thing!

:techman:

Thank you for that description. I have added you to my 'fan film makers who have not yet released a fan film' group, http://startrekreviewed.blogspot.com/2009/06/143.html; you are letter (Z).

I also have sad news from Star Trek: Horizon. I received an e-mail saying their production is on indefinite hold, and will not be out this year.

I will add that information to my blog, which has Star Trek: Horizon in the same Blog 143 as Star Track. Star Trek: Horizon has been moved to my new Section A of Blog 143, as (AA), which is a designation for fan film groups which have not released a fan film and which are on hold, don't have apparent activity for over a year, or have dissolved.

Hey Barbreader, cool blog and thanks for the add. Looks like a great resource! I love checking out different fan productions and finding new ones. Your site has been bookmarked and I look forward to exploring it in greater detail.

Thank you. The website generally leaves the future to others, (like Captain Ken) and deals with the present only. What I now need is links to it from other people's websites, so that if somebody does a Trek search, it will show up. I think I've gotten it to the 'useful' point.

I am still interested in constructive suggestions, and I am ALWAYS interested in being directed to Star Trek fan films (not parodies) which I have not yet discovered. I have blogs for the stuff I've found and not sorted, and non-film/video Trek, too. They were created to help me NOT review the same non-film Trek multiple times. I also have a parody blog, which for the time being includes major parody groups. I may eventually relent and give them individual blogs.

I would like to know your location, so I can add you to my fan film map.

I like your organizational process and method. It's hard to sort out the whole fan production universe and this is a great way to help. As for Golden Media and Star Track, here is their information: http://www.startrack.goldenmediastudios.com Location: Montreal, Quebec

I've become a fan of their series after watching their live-action episodes and worked to create their first animated episode last Christmas. We've been working extremely hard on the next animated episode(s) and are very excited for the final product!

The Star Track series may have humorous elements, but they work just as hard and love Star Trek just as much as other more serious fan productions. Their episodes have lots of good continuity, character development, good production values, and even a few serious moments. I also like seeing the friendship of the cast shine through while getting a few laughs along the way.

Here are some links about the series:

Thanks again for posting links to your blog. I look forward to checking it periodically and seeing you around here as well.

Thank you for clarifying. I already had Star Track: Idomo in my blog under Parodies. Although I will return to those at a later time, I am going to move your information there when I have a chance, and also move your 'new' fan film group there. They are not a new group to me, just a subset of a group I already have on my blog. http://startrekreviewed.blogspot.com/2009/06/146.html

It does show the weakness of my placing parodies aside that I didn't recognize that I already had this fan film group.

Thank you for the head's up. Give me a few days to catch up with your posting here, and add that information to my Parody blog.

When I read posts like these, I don't know if I should be discouraged or encouraged to realize I already have all these fan film groups in my blog!

lol I think both, right? As we mentioned, its very hard to keep everything straight with so many different fan productions! Keep up the good work, I'm sure it will help people discover new productions they never heard of (or even forgot about).
