Fall Previews: What's coming soon in Star Trek fan productions?

CaptainKen

It's that time of year I remember so well as a kid -- not getting ready to go back to school, but instead that whole experience of buying the Fall Preview edition of TV Guide. It was so exciting to check out what was coming soon! I'd start planning which TV shows I was going to watch in the fall. Sometimes they predicted the hits and sometimes they were way off base, but it was always great fun having something to look forward too.

This is my attempt to do that for us who love to watch these new Star Trek Fan Productions. It's been a fairly quiet summer, but just have a look at what's coming soon this Fall from all these high quality fan productions! I think you'll be surprised! It's GREAT NEWS! Almost every production is putting something out this fall! Prepare to engage yourself with quality Trek entertainment.

Starship Farragut: The Animated Episodes
"Power Source" 3rd (final) Act due by the end of August
Trailer, Acts 1 & 2, available now: http://www.farragut-animated.com/episode.html

Star Trek: Odyssey
“The Immortal Loom” (Season 2, Episode 2) late August
http://www.hiddenfrontier.com/

Star Trek: Phase II
"Blood and Fire" Part 2 early September (Labour Day at the soonest but probably a little later)
Part 1 of this Two Episode story has been out for a while and getting rave reviews!

Star Trek: The Helena Chronicles
“Red Sky At Morn” early September
http://www.hiddenfrontier.com/

Starship Exeter
"The Tressaurian Intersection" November (pure speculation on my part)
Teaser, Acts 1, 2 & 3 have been available for months, well, years, and most fans have lost hope in ever seeing the Tag/Credits or what most have been calling Act 4, but based on posts from Michael at Neo f/x, Dennis Bailey and posts representing input from Jimm Johnson, they're all working on it and though they need a couple more months, it will be completed! So "November" is purely a speculative guess, but it sure would be nice!

“Leashed Thunder” closer to the end of the year

Star Trek: Enterprise - The New Generation
"Crossroads" late 2009 / early 2010

The new English voice cast includes some Trek familiars: Paul R. Sieber, Ron Boyd, Meghan King Johnson, Rex Duis and Ralph M. Miller with special guest voice performances by Vic Mignogna, Jeffery Quinn, Charles Root, Julienne Irons and John Lim.
A trailer for is available: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5urqFptyOzc

http://www.starshipintrepid.net/[/li]

Star Trek: Intrepid
"The Stone Unturned" 2010 (Post-production power! Not yet sure about a projected release date)
Captain Picard on an Indiana Jones style adventure! Wow! This episode sounds spectacular. They have Jean Luc Picard impersonator Giles Aston guest starring in this episode.

To wrap up this fall preview, you might enjoy this recent video of Giles Aston / Capt Picard: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QABjG-Fakgc

PLEASE let me know if you have better release date info that I've posted here. For my own entertainment and anticipation, I wanted to make a list; then I thought it might be good to share it with everyone else. I do have documentation for the dates I've given above. If you're a producer and want me to change any of the above info just PM me or post a reply and I will modify as per your request. I've tried to use the best data available from various Trek forums to produce this "schedule." If I've failed to include your production, post a reply; I will consider adding to the list. I did focus on all my favourite video productions so I may have inadvertently left some out. There's lots for us fans to be excited about! It's going to be a great Fall for Trek.

Great thread! I know there are couple of projects still being tossed about, and not fianlized so we will see if there wil be more to add later.

Nice. Can't wait to see everything once it comes out. I think the Enterprise one might be worth taking a look at from what I saw of from the preview.

I was quite surprised by this fall list of releases. I knew there were some big ones coming like Phase II's "Blood and Fire - Part 2" and Odyssey's "Immortal Loom" but I had no idea there's about a dozen Trek productions scheduled to make releases this fall/early winter! After making the list and getting excited I thought it would be worth sharing with the community of fans.

I just saw that Star Trek: Aurora has produced its third act, with the fourth to arrive sometime in the fall. I don't have a link on me. Can someone post a link to that site?

>>Starship Farragut: The Animated Episodes
"Power Source" 3rd (final) Act due by the end of August

The convention schedule says the full "Power Source" will be debuted on Friday at DragonCon Labor Day Weekend.

Also, Star Trek: Phase II
"Blood and Fire" Part 2 early September (Labor Day at the soonest but probably a little later)
Part 1 of this Two Episode story has been out for a while and getting rave reviews!

According to the DragonCon schedule, Phase II will show the completed "Blood and Fire: on Saturday.

Again, theee are listed in the DragonCon schedule. Who knows if something will change by then, but that's the latest information I have.

Captain Randy Hall:

Yes, "Power Source" is being shown at Dragon Con. Neo f/x has said they will be releasing it next week, or maybe sooner. So we'll get to see it before Dragon Con.

As far as Phase II goes, I'm pretty sure their plan is to screen "The Child" at Dragon Con. I don't see anything in the Trek Trak of Dragon Con that mentions BaF-2: http://www.trektrak.com/

The folks at Phase II have said that BaF Part 2 will be ready around Labour Day, but because they have so many of their crew attending Dragon Con, they may not release the episode on the web til a few days after Labour Day. And even though "The Child" will be screened at the Con, it will still be a while before it is officially released.

I'm not too familiar with Aurora Trek or the reliability of their release dates, but if you'd like me to add it to the list, I will.

Well, since I do a column for SciFiPulse.net called Fan Film Friday, I'm always on the lookout for some new things to review since I have to fill 52 Fridays a year. The two leads are a human woman and a vulcan woman in a cargo ship.

The schedule you looked at was a different one than I saw. That one simply said Phase II for two hours, and I assumed that was "Blood and Fire" since as far as I know, that's the closest to being released.

Such is life.

I'm not trying to take over the thread or anything, but I just came across a site that is dedicated to animated Star Trek, and it seems they've finished their first 30-minute episode.

Here's the link if you're interested: http://www.danhausertrek.com/AnimatedSeries/Main.html

Yes, it's a great website. I've discussed it in http://startrekreviewed.blogspot.com/2009/06/23.html
of my blog. Their primary focus is not on creating fan films, but they have done one anyway!

Your input is most welcome, Captain Randy. "And Let the Heavens Fall" is pretty cool. Fans should check it out. But since it was released back in April, it couldn't make it to the Fall Preview!

All input is welcome. I was just trying to get psyched up about all the GREAT Trek coming our way this Fall.

I just e-mailed Star Trek: Horizon (a planned Polish fan film) to find out if they are still planning on releasing their 40 minute film before the end of the year. I also asked if there would be English subtitles available.

The two "trailers" they released both had English subtitles. Hopefully this is part of their plan for release. Keep us posted as to what you find out.

Jaksajak, some fans are into parodies and some are not. I guess I'm part of that group interested in seeing good quality Trek rather than spoofing it.

That's cool CaptainKen! Actually I'd say their production is more of a middle ground between a parody and a serious series, but to each their own! We created an animated xmas episode last year and are very hard at work on the next animated episode. It will be very worthwhile and of excellent quality, but if you're not into that, no problem. We're all big fans of Trek and everyone enjoys their own thing!
