Facepalm Moments

Yeah. I think you can like a moment even if you do label it facepalm.

"Human Error" was okay, really. They should have used a real holodeck character instead of a member of the crew as Seven's love interest (maybe looking like Axum?). I liked the dilemma that Seven faced at the end. It made her so much more sympathetic; and I hate how they just dumped it all in "Endgame."

The double standard bugged me. Reg Barclay used real crew members in his programs in TNG yet got diagnosed with holo addiction. Seven shows the same behavior - heck, even abandoning her post and it's brushed under the rug.

However, Reg wasn't trying to understand and develop finite emotions like Seven was.

Reg and Seven were both socially and emotionally stunted for different reasons perhaps but they were both using holograms of real people for personal fulfillment. In TNG that was viewed as an invasion of privacy for the involved crewmembers and Reg was expected to undergo counseling while Seven basically got a pat on the head from the Doctor and her superior officers never were told. Sorry, but it still seems like a double standard to me...

I've always thought that "Human Error" is a perfect example of just how immature Seven of Nine was. She used a hologram of an older guy, much the same way a young teenage girl daydreams about rock stars or television heroes. These are usually unobtainable males and therefore safe. It seemed a natural progression given the technology. Seven of Nine had a crush a perfectly normal thing. She had this crush on an attractive male that had never paid her any attention other than trying to throw her out of an airlock. Now I am not condoning her behavior, I'm saying it is an adolescent behavior.

I guess we can blame the doctor for that. :borg:

When Admiral Janeway said, "Seven is going to die, She will die in the arms of her husband."
Captain Janeway: "Husband?"
Admiral Janeway: "Chakotay."

There are probably many, but I just saw this episode and it probably hasn't been mentioned it, and I didn't want to start a new thread on it.

Investigations was a facepalm moment. Here we have an arc with Paris acting all bad, Jonas speaking with Seska, and it all boils down to... A Briefing with Neelix? Who thought that up. There was so much missed potential in that episode. Still though, it wasn't a bad show, but man it could have been so much better. :(

When Kathryn didn't kiss Seven in that shuttle after convincing Seven to let the forcefield down.

(I gotta throw one in for my team. ;))

It really looked like she was going to for a second, but that would have been asking too much.

I could have been okay with them leaving J/7 as subtext but why try and ruin it with C/7? At least Admiral Janeway went back in time to prevent Seven marrying Chakotay.

A few people mentioned Janeway in Equinox, I liked seeing Janeway's dark side. They'd took Seven of Nine, Janeway will always go all out to rescue Seven.

That's the on-going thing that drives J/7, isn't it? The fact the two of them will do anything to save the other just pushes us shippers who support this ship.

But, Beltran had to fuss about not having enough to do, and ... BAM ... C/7.

:barf:

J/Cers are with you on that one. :)

:guffaw: i love how u put the puking smiley in there. I'm not much for J/7 but it is quite better than C/7

I think I can safely say that most Voyagers feel :barf: about C/7.

We shippers may agree to disagree on J/P, J/C, and J/7, but we all seem to agree on C/7.

In the world of shipper fandom, that's quite amazing if you think about it.

If it had been up to Chakotay they would never have kept Seven of Nine in the first place. Then they would probably all have been killed because Seven's borg tricks are always saving Voyager. The C/7 scenes in Endgame made me want to throw something at the tv. At least Captain Janeway looked horrified when she was told Seven and Chakotay were going to get married.

Man, I wasn't (and am not) a J/7er, but even I thought Janeway was going to kiss Seven in that shuttle. I remember my jaw dropping during that scene...

But, yeah. I think C/7 might have gone down better with the masses if it was a one-off thing and not at the end of the series. "Human Error" was enough. The terrible scenes with those two slowed the pace of "Endgame" to a screeching halt every single time. Gross.

Facepalm for me - Macrocosm.

Oh, boo! That's one of my favorite ones!

Of course, it makes no sense whatsoever, and... sure ...the idea of Janeway not having to actually pull her shirt over her head to get it off is kind of odd, but... but...

*whines*

Commando Janeway is awesome!

Yeah, okay... I guess I could see it... :shifty:

I liked Commando Janeway. I just went "Giant flying gobs of mucus and slime? :ack: :barf2:"

"Mucilaginous compound". :barf:
