Eye of the Needle similar to Chilean Miners Rescue...

Candlelight

Just watched it and immediately thought of this. A group of people, trapped an incomprehensible distance away, and - assuming they did use the micro-wormhole to transport through - would probably come through one by one to be safe.

Erm, no. It wasn't remotely similar to the Chilean miner's predicament.

Actually it was, the rescue of it anyway (in reference to the micro-wormhole).

Actually, I have to agree with You Will Fail, the miners if not rescued could have been killed if the mine callapsed while Voyager was fine where it was and was in no immediate danger. Voyager had food, room to move around, holodecks, private quarters, opposite sex companionship, etc. The miners were in a large chamber with nothing but other male miners to pass the time with and had to go to the bathroom in a corner.
I'd pick Voyager any day over being trapped in a mine.

As for sending one Voyager crew member at a time thru the wormhole, since a person is turned into energy they should have been able to send more than one crew member thru the wormhols at a time. The difficulty of beaming the Romulan scientist thru was mainly due to the Voyager crew figuring out how to beam thru a wormhole safely.

I'm not talking about the PREDICAMENT I'm talking about the (hypothetical) RESCUE.

Sigh...

The episode Gravity might be a better metaphoric comparison the the dilemma of the Chilean miners. While true Tuvok and Paris were not facing immediate death, they were trapped and powerless to effect their own escape. Outside forces had to reach down and pull them up to safety.

Closest episode that I can think of.
