Explain The Origin Of Your Username...

It was the name of my own fictional company from the X Universe games, which I founded back in 2004 when I was playing that game a lot. Eventually I adopted it as my own username.

So, in a way, I'm just like Alice Cooper.

I'm a huge Scott Bakula fan and Captain Archer fan as well.....

How long do you expect this state of fandom to last? =p

I'm a Bakula and an Archer fan. I admit there aren't as many of us to go around as I'd like, but the guy's a solid actor and a really fun and personable guy. And for all the crap Archer got for being so green he was a pretty believable prequel captain, for which Bakula's acting chops get the credit.

About as long as Captain Archer. And if nuTrek told the truth, dude lived forever.

Archer was great when he was himself. The problem was that was like 6% of the time.

I love Scott Bakula. I enjoyed his performance in Star Trek Enterprise, but nothing compares to how awesome he was on Quantum Leap! Sorry for the digression. :)

Can't argue with that statement. Jonathan Archer was great. But Dr. Sam Becket was a revelation. QL will go down in history as one of the best sci-fi/fantasy shows in American television history, and Bakula's amazing performances are part of why.

:rommie:

And Porthos almost did.... :(

I'm convinced Scotty didn't beam and lose Porthos. Unless, of course, Archer had him put in a cryogenic suspension kennel for decades and revived him when he was a really old man.

There's always taxidermy. Would you put that past Duchess?

Hell no. That would be a really weird situation though. "Here. This is my famous beagle Porthos who was with me during all of my most legendary missions many, many decades ago. He's dead and stuffed. He means the world to me.

Here, I'll let you use him for your transporter experiments."

I do like Scott Bakula as an actor, I really feel sorry for him and Mulgrew, because they were so much better than the majority of the crap they had to act...every episode they show off their acting chops and a lot of the time the writers let them down so badly

My username comes from... well, between DS9's 6th and 7th seasons whenever that was, when I joined the PsiPhi BBS. I was in 8th grade and thought kestrels were cool (still do). Plus there was an online game I played with a spaceship class called the Kestrel that I liked.

Back in 2000, I lost access to my first Yahoo account and needed a new username. I decided to follow a friend's example and borrow a song title from Chris Rice's "Smellin' Coffee". The song is mostly religious, and so was I at that point, but the essence of it is waking up happily, with a fresh start. Even after I left religion in 2006, I retained the name because I like its optimism. It's also 'quirky' and I've identified with it to the point that I use it as my facebook url. Of course, I DO like coffee...and I will savor the smell of mine for a few minutes before I get around to drink it.

Perhaps exposure to all those tachyons in the Temporal Cold War lengthened their lives.

But, yeah, Scotty would never beam and lose Porthos. Scotty was competent. ;)
