Expecting Trailer?/Super Bowl Trailer is Live Now [SPOILERS]

Another series of money shots. I do hope they genuinely destroy the Enterprise though. It really is an ugly piece of shit.

I doubt Her ending in this particular case, is going to be much better than the last time She went screaming through an atmosphere...

Re: Will We Be Expecting Another Trailer From The Super Bowl Hype ???

Cumberbatch showed more menace and presence in that TV Spot than Bana's Nero did for the entirety of his Razzie-worthy performance.

Genuinely got me quite excited.

You wouldn't leave him walking your dog !!! :guffaw:

It would be rather ironic if they use this as an excuse to build a new ship that looked more like either the original or the TMP version.

Either way, it certainly appears that the ship takes quite a beating in this movie.

I don't think it'll be destroyed though. It'll probably get battered and then fixed up to be same only with added upgrades like caterpiller tracks and a periscope.

That was awesome!:bolian:

Cumberbatch being badass. The Enterprise falling out of the sky. The saucer slicing the building.... fuck.

FUCK! *head explodes*

:rommie: glad to know it wasn't just me who had that reaction...i may have sworn a little more on first viewing :)

Guess we can be a little more sure which ship is going in the drink in the prior trailers:

Wow seeing her like this...huh never thought I'd feel bad for the new version of version of her... :(

I don't think the ship design is ugly, but the interior is kinda bland compared to all it's predecessors. Somebody paint those fucking walls.

It looks suspiciously like a huge chamber full of cryo-pods being detonated in London.

And, are those Union Jack's upside-down?:vulcan:

^^^It actually looks like a landing bay, I assumed for Taxis/transport but I can make out what looks like missiles or torpedoes, so it may be a starfleet base of some kind designed to scramble fighters in the event of an attack.

Either way, I think it's based in London.

BTW, is anyone else put off by the mile wide saucer slicing through skyscrapers at the end? THE MILE-WIDE SAUCER. >_<

OK...

the whole Harrison/Kirk dialogue exchange of:
Harrison: I'm Better
Kirk: At What?
Harrison: Everything.
has me again considering the theory that some people have that Harrison was one of the "Supermen" on the Botany Bay.
:vulcan:

Scale in Trek has always be a little fubar *cough*Voyagershuttlebay*cough* So this is just another to toss on the list. Does add to my theory that Helmsman Troi is onboard the Enterprise

You do know this Enterprise is meant to be much bigger than the original? 725 meters long according to the Bluray, but possibly as large as 1200m (the Art of the Movie book)

OUR
WORLD
WILL
FALL

Well if the Enterprise did more exploring and less home hugging, they would discover 120+ worlds that have the same gravity and atmosphere as Earth. I think we can survive not having an Earth.
