News Exclusive: Scott Bakula Eyeing Star Trek Return In President Archer Series Pitch From ‘Enterprise’ Producer

I'd love it.

The way ENT ended (TATV) always stuck in my craw. This would be a nice way to remedy some of that. Plus, I like thinking Trek more than (dumb) action Trek, and Andor was the best Star Wars show by a mile.

There appears to be a growing number of people who want to see this project happen if the new masters at Paramount will allow it. Interesting...

I appreciate what they are trying to do, I just think a Presidential shuttle needs to look more like a pre TOS ship, not design aspects you find in 24th/25th century ships.

It looks more like a U.S.S. Voyager NX.

Looks kind of late 20th century shuttle-y to me.
It actually looks like the spaceplane in the ENT intro, and the Warp Delta. And I Iove the gold bussards. Very fresh.

If there’s a flaw, it’s that it lacks a warp ring around the nacelles. If inspiration is being taken from the Vulcans, then shouldn’t Vulcan design be fully embraced? It would be better to start with the warp ring and then evolve over Archer’s presidency to not need the warp ring anymore.

I’m not fond of the saucer alternative. It’s way too soon and seems like it would fit the idea of a collaborative nation building project under Archer. I would hope that ship/project would resemble the USS Pioneer that was seen at the Fleet Museum in PIC S3.

Unfortunately the masses on Facebook posting about it are making it sound like this is actually happening, and the people responding are thinking likewise. I personally don’t see Skydance being interested in this at all.

The "spaceplane" was launched pre-Starfleet and is more in line with the Space Shuttle NASA designs.

Since "Enterprise" is canon, and Archer is President at a date starting about fifty years before the Constitution class was launched in-universe, and we see TOS-era ships generally speaking, look like the Constitution class, that means that design approach was already in use probably about the time Archer was still President, so there has to be a bridging gap design to show how the ships got there. I would think the President's shuttle would get top-of-the-line design approaches when it comes to new stuff.

No one is going to be revealing anything on pain of losing their job.

What is there to reveal? McMahon made a failed pitch to CBS/Paramount, and now he’s going to try again with Skydance, with most likely the same result. Nobody’s losing their job over that.

Who's McMahon?

Mike Sussman is behind the Bakula/United pitch.
