Carol might work. So would Edith Keeler.
I can't see Edith going down that sort of path. She was too understanding of the bigger picture. She would have gotten it. (opinions may vary.)
I can't either, but she was someone that Kirk Prime would've given anything to be with. Someone clones her, she's angry and goes after someone who wronged her family.
That's why Carol has the best motivation, but why my other examples *could* be plausible....
