Every Star Trek Phase II clip in the wild edited in one video!

Right on, man! I saw that video the other day. I can dig it. Who's the jive-turkey who put a stop to this? Okay, stopping with the super-bad '70s slang.

It's funny to think of Decker with an afro.

Incidentally, are these sets supposed to be indicative of what they might have looked like in the series, or are they just placeholders? They seem incredibly bare to me.
I'm pretty sure that these were temporary placeholders.

Most likely the actors would have had their hair cut; Starfleet is a semi-military outfit after all. Longish hair was still a thing a year later when TMP was shot, but everyone still had their hair trimmed down (although Shatner's toupee is bigger than his TOS ones).

Apart from the engineering test shots, the sets used for screen tests are typically temp stuff only set up for the purposes of filming the performances. Those are not indicative of what the final versions may have looked like.

A shame that is all that exists.

Really cool to see a glimpse of what might have been (and what maybe WAS in a parallel universe). David G seemed like he would’ve made a brilliant Vulcan. Feel quite bad for the guy!

Decker Mk 1 did not leave as good an impression.

Disco sci-fi Trek! It looks like The Starlost, and although fascinating probably would not have been a blazing success.

Xon was great, though. He had the role down.

After TNG season one, I'm kind of surprised Trek made it, to be honest:lol:

I read the synopsis of the proposed episodes on Memory Alpha. Of course I can't take really judge them just by that, but they really didn't impress me much. But at least it wasn't Buck Roger (the TV show).

By the way, I'm a little disappointed by the uniforms. They are identical to TOS, just the collar little wider

I thought the same thing but then realized those synopsis are all first round story pitch ideas. How many of the best Star Trek episodes sounded horrible or bland at the initial pitch?

Devil's Due is a solid episode, for example.
