Perhaps it will be River Song's first meeting with the Doctor? Lyn did do Silence In The Library after all...

Rachel Weisz or Kate Winslet would be perfect. If there is a film, it will be a completely self-contained stand-alone story designed so it can be understood by people who've never seen an episode of Doctor Who in their lives. With an American actress (or at least an actress who'll be well known in America) playing the Companion.

Unfortunately, we'll probably end up with someone like Natalie Portman or Scarlett Johannsen.

There's no problem here. This would be River Song's first encounter with The Doctor and he wouldn't say anything to her about having met her (and how she died) as already stated by the two-parter. All we would get would be some subtle hints that the general audience wouldn't have to worry about. I think the meeting of River Song could work out...If there is a film, it will be a completely self-contained stand-alone story designed so it can be understood by people who've never seen an episode of Doctor Who in their lives.Perhaps it will be River Song's first meeting with the Doctor? I love Portman but I would certainly take Weisz or Winslet over her.Rachel Weisz or Kate Winslet would be perfect. If there is a film, it will be a completely self-contained stand-alone story designed so it can be understood by people who've never seen an episode of Doctor Who in their lives. Should the fragrant Kate appear in a WHO production I think I would explode with delight.Rachel Weisz or Kate Winslet would be perfect. If there is a film, it will be a completely self-contained stand-alone story designed so it can be understood by people who've never seen an episode of Doctor Who in their lives. that is actually not as crazy as it soundsPersonally I'd be tempted to get Lady Christina back...
In the 60's when Peter Cushing was playing The Doctor on the big screen, William Hartnell was still playing The Doctor in the TV series.

they are the first Doctor Who I ever saw.In the 60's when Peter Cushing was playing The Doctor on the big screen, William Hartnell was still playing The Doctor in the TV series.
Quite true, and they were also retelling two already aired TV series, and poor old Cushing always seems to be overlooked when it comes to Dr who history.
I love those two movies, they are groovy man.
Yeah, I doubt Kate will appear. But I live in hope...Should the fragrant Kate appear in a WHO production I think I would explode with delight.Rachel Weisz or Kate Winslet would be perfect.![]()

That would be cool, but hazarding a guess I'd guess they'd either have to go with someone who's famous but perhaps dipping career wise or some young up and comer no one's heard of much.
Then again Weisz is a fan I think, and RTD did give winslet her big break...
Please no River Song, bad enough we know the doctor will be in no danger, to do likewise with the companion would be worse...

Excellent Saturday afternoon fare for kids. I always liked them, too. Plus, one of them has The Cribbens *salute, gawdbelssyersir* and the other has THE CHOCOLATE OFFENSIVE!"In the 60's when Peter Cushing was playing The Doctor on the big screen, William Hartnell was still playing The Doctor in the TV series.

Yes, but that Doctor was a Human being, from Earth. In the 60's when Peter Cushing was playing The Doctor on the big screen, William Hartnell was still playing The Doctor in the TV series.
From what I can tell about this movie (and perhaps I'm being presumptuous), it's just going to be the ongoing tales of The Tenth Doctor doing his thing.
