EURO 2012

I don't care if the team has a effective tongue.

Next time, avoid this kind of comparison, for the sake of elegance.

ENG were the better team until we scored and then we decided we had enough . No tempo in the attacks from either side though Chamberlain impressed. Gerrard at fault over Hart for goal since he turned his back on the shot allowing it to squeeze past him and Milner offers NOTHING going forward even when given an open net.

ENG need to create more otherwise we will end up drawing all 3 games at best. I'd like to see Chamberlain go behind Welbeck and Young drop to the left wing against Sweden.

Jeez, am I the only happy England fan? We look organised, we look like a team. Are we gonna win the tournament? No, but let's take some positives. We defended well, and we had chances, played some nice football at times. I'm happy with that result.

Ukraine/Sweden was a much more entertaining match. Good on Ukraine to get the win there. England might actually have to try to win a match now if they plan on moving on. :p

Delighted for Shevchenko there, what a player he's been. I always like to see the hosts stay in the tournament past the group stage so hopefully that win will give them a good chance.

Sweden were very disappointing - I expected much better from them, even with Toivonen and Ibra drifting in and out. And Elmander - did he ever really turn it on when he was at Bolton? What a miss. He should have salvaged a point at the death there. Makes the next England game interesting though, seeing as they really have to go for it and win now!

Ukraine winning is a good result for ENG as assuming France don't fluff their lines in the next 2 games we have a safety net now. We could lose to Sweden but still go through if we beat Ukriane assuming France win their 2 games. However you'd expect ENG to probably take a point against a really poor Sweden team.

You gotta give it to the UEFA - they have a sense of humour. Not only did they schedule the history laden game Poland vs. Russia on the Russian national holiday but they also have a team of Germans be the referees. It's hard to imagine how one could bring even more history in it - maybe if the referee's assistants were Belarussian? ;)

The Polish broadcasters (and through them all other international tv stations) are showing a replay of the goal every single time the match is interrupted. I must've seen it like 20 times now. :D

Russia is totally falling apart, kind of surprising. I favored Poland in this match-up, but Russia is lucky this isn't getting embarrassing already. If Poland only takes 2 points from the first two matches they are really unlucky.

They're using their chances not decisively enough which will probably come back to bite them in their asses.

Also, Stark is kind of bad-ass, isn't he? "Oh, while you're limping off the pitch helped by someone else, here's your yellow card."

I think based off that 2nd half I would be surprised if Poland didn't over turn Czech next week to qualify. I only saw the last 35 minutes but sam Poland were very impressive. Tommorow I think Germany will dump Holland out of Euro 2012 with Denmark & Portugal sharing the spoils.

If Portugal beat Denmark tomorrow then Holland can't be eliminated yet, even if they lose to Germany.

I still think there will be three teams all stuck on three points at the end of the round in Group B. Germany will win all three games, Portugal will beat Denmark, and then lose to Holland;

Germany - 9pts
Holland - 3pts
Portugal - 3pts
Denmark - 3pts

In group A - hope Poland go through, they've been entertaining to watch. Very unlucky in the second half not to edge the game and take all three points.

Lol,Ronaldo misses a 100%er (to big cheers in the public viewing I'm at) and Denmark equalises (to cheers as well). ;)

eta: am I the only one watching the game? poor Danes but awesome goal to 3:2

No. I watched it, too, but more in the background. Ronaldo has a hard time scoring even if the goal was empty when he's playing for the national team. It's almost tragic. I think the Danes would have merited a draw but well, that's football, I guess, and overall, Portugal was the better team.
It would be kind of funny if after today all the teams in Group B had 3 points. (It would be bad for my nerves, though.)
