EURO 2008 - The Official Trek BBS Thread

*yawn*
The only good thing about this game is, that it reminded me again why I hate south-european football so much.

Another game going into extra time. Some good chances for both teams, but no one can take advantage of it

What a awful game though Guizan looks decent but Villa should of come off and not Torres...

That great cross that Fabregas did and Villa tried to control with right instead of 1st time hit with left makes me wonder how can any player be worth £20-25 million and be one footed :wtf:

Well, time for penalty kicks. Can't say this game has been as interesting as the last two ;)

damn, that sucks. Neither team played a good game, but I guess Spain played slightly better.

Jeez another game left to the penalty kicks. Hope the Simi-finals are better.

Watching ESPN and even the commentators sounded a little frustrated I think. ;)

Oh well I was going for Spain, sorta and they won so all good I guess.

 Yeah, that's true

I guess it's fitting that Spain won on penalty kicks, considering their last three June 22 games.

Not an interesting match but at least Italy is out (sighs of relief).
My (not too risky) bet on a Russia/Germany finale with the Germans being - as often - the lucky ones.

I wouldn't bet a cent on Spain, Italy's gonna win for sure.

Oh Italy actually rarely wins shootouts. The 06 victory in Germany was just a fluke in a long lines of Italian penalty kick failures. :)
That wasn't a penalty shootout, Italy scored a goal in the 119th minute of extra time (and then one more in the 121st).

I think he was talking about the final against France, not the semi-finale against Germany.

I was talking about the final game on July 9th in Berlin.

Edited: Defcon beat me to it.

Anyways Casillas proved once again why he is an awesome goalkeeper.

Donadoni failed again by having Italy playing so negative. Having 4 combative midfielders along with 4 fullbacks plus a striker who can't score for his country just doesn't work.

Chiellini proved that he can joined the long lines of great Italian defenders.
