I'm guessing that Allison, like some of the other series regulars, was on one of the last buses out of Eureka, her son and other students being ahead somewhere.

Well, technically it's prototype super-Degree pilfered from the lab by another character and then confiscated by the main one right before the climax but... yep, right on the money.

For the love of God. And I was joking, too! :guffaw:

Hi there. I discovered Eureka a few weeks ago and I've catched up since then. Great show! Voted very good for this episode, very well done.

The only thing that is bugging me since the beginning of season 3 is the music. I hate it! I was perfectly content with it for the first two seasons :(

Could a younger Eve be in the pics and other info she redacted?

It certainly seems as if Thorne was involved in whatever happened back then. Still, she doesn't look old enough to have been around in the 1930's (as if looks on a sci-fi show mean anything). Unless time travel or some sort of cellular aging retardation are involved, I'm thinking her father was one of those men.

Given how awkwardly some of the product-hawking scenes are incorporated the episodes, I'm hoping the DVD and syndication versions are planned to severely truncate the amount of "over-engineered for dryness" garbage that's in the show. And if not, than the constant advertising damn well better be reflected in the price.

I'm not sure why that would be. They changed composers between season one and two, but nothing changed between two and three.

Well, remember, when Martha scanned Eve in the premiere, her age was "Classified."

I don't get the bitching about the Degree sponsorship. I hardly notice it and the way they used it in this episode was at least comedic.

Why does a logo in the background bother some of you so much? Would you prefer a third of your screen taken up by advertisements?

(DON'T FORGET TO WATCH SANCTUARY ON SCI-FI, OKAY?!)

Honestly, it's much easier to ignore the pop-ups than it is the characters literally and earnestly quoting the same commercial that was just on in the middle of the episode. It's like they're not even trying. It's not like people really speak in advertising copy when they're talking about their work.

If it were just the logo on crates and labcoats, as it was in the first couple episodes, there wouldn't be as many complaint.

I've only noticed the on-screen mention in the first episode of this season, possibly the second, and this one (and only technically, did they even mention Degree by name?). And all of them weren't terribly distracting, as far as I recall. The majority has been merely logos on things, like the roll on during the time-looping episode.

A third of the screen blocked out is far away more distracting than most other advertising all together for me.

I don't mind the actually product placement, unless they literally stop the show to show you the product, like Smallville do on occasion. But this episode, the dialogue was so clunky, it sounded like they were saying an advertising slogan every few minutes, but that's probably because they were, and that bothered me.

I do hate the violator ads t hough, and I hate your country for having introduced them for my country to follow suit. Our's aren't nearly as bad on most channels though, the only one that I remember having them that bad is Sci-Fi, with a great big Medium ad taking up the bottom left corner of the screen, about a quarter of it.

Finally got to see the episode on sci-fi.com:

Good episode with one gripe: Carter's sister acted really unethically by starting that write-in campaign. She's responsible for counting the votes! :wtf:

I figured it out. I watched a season 2 episode and ot's the same theme but it's been re-recorded, remixed or whatever. It was nice in season 2 but it really bugged me in season 3 as soon as I heard it :(

I think the product placement stuff is much less noticeable if you watch the episodes online. At least, I didn't notice anything weird this week at all. On Hulu, the commercials weren't from Degree - in fact, I don't remember what the ads were for. So, if you'd like a less-ad-intrusive Eureka experience, watch online! :techman: ;)
