In many episodes, there;s an 'A' and a 'B' story (and sometimes even a 'C' one, etc). Most times, it is pretty clear, either by screen time or 'drama' or potential implications for the rest of the series which one is intended as the 'A' story (for example, in DS9 some structural development in the Dominion War vs. some trifling drama for one of the protagonists that is not revisited after that episode).
I was wondering if there are exceptions to this? Where it really seems like two equally important (or: equally unimportant
)stories are being played out, and it's kind of hard to say which one, if any, was intended as the 'A' story?
