Starfleet has been dominated by (stupid) mad, human Admirals since its inception, excluding Admiral Forrest.
I don't believe the original had an "evil" Admiral until Cartwright, in Star Trek VI.

Sup?
I think that's true for most of the franchise, really.Honestly, most of TNG doesn't hold up very well for me, outside of a few classic episodes like "Measure of a Man," "Best of Both Worlds," "Yesterday's Enterprise," and "Sarek."

I so agree. When I am channel hoping if TOS is on I stop and watch for nostalgia sake, when TNG is on I keep hopping unless its an episode I really want to see again. I am doing an in universe order rewatch of the entire franchise (I'm redoing DISC at the moment having started with ENT) and its going to be torture to do TNG and VOY lolBut I would agree that of all of them, TNG is the hardest to get back into.
Captains gone mad...crutchTOS just never needed to lean on that particular crutch. The crew had enough on their plate with Matt Decker, Tracy, Merick...
The Hirojen in general were a waste of time, and ended up being just another Klingon analog."Prey" from Voyager.
I agree, which is unfortunate because I think they had one of the better costume/makeup jobs we've seen. The Hirojen in general were a waste of time, and ended up being just another Klingon analog.
Hmmm... That would be an interesting exercise. I might want to try that over in its own thread: "Boil Trek down to 50 episodes or less."Aside from the fact I paid for them and it would be wasteful, I could easily audit and reduce my entire Star Trek collection to under 50 episodes. Probably even less than that. Especially given that if I really wanted to watch an episode I didn't have, I could easily find them on Netflix/Amazon/CBSAA.

Could be fun. But in order to be as fair and objective as possible, I'd have to go rewatch them all and take notes. That would be very difficult.

Me too! I could probably do it, though. Losing most of the third season brings us down into the neighborhood of 50.I would have trouble boiling TOS down to 50 episodes or less.![]()
Meh. Most of season 2 can go too. And there are four or five from season 1 that aren't really mandatory either. All in you're looking about 30 from TOS, leaving three or four for each of the other series which is probably enough.
Who thinks this is a bad episode?Voyager 'Blink of the Eye'.
Edit:
Shit, wrong thread. This was meant to go into the bad episodes I think are good.
