Episode Eight Pre-Release Thread

Breathtaking!

Looks like Snoke is normal size. I'm pretty sure that's his figure in the background when Rey is arching backwards in severe pain.

Obviously the last few shots are out of context. But, looks promising!

Sadly, because the in-laws chose that weekend to come to town, we can’t go until Sunday, December 17th. But we have amazing IMAX 2D tickets for that afternoon!

It’s just going to be a tough 60 or so hours!

Really great trailer, beats the first one easily. I'm somehow even more hyped for the movie. Is it December yet?

I don't see anything spoilery in that trailer, unless you already know what it's spoiling. Just the usual false editing to make you think something is happening that isn't (Ren killing Leia, for example -- although it would be a convenient way to write Fisher out of Ep IX).

Some questions, though: who is Kylo Ren talking to about killing the past? Rey? Luke?

Who is Luke talking to about it will not go the way he/she thinks? Rey? Kylo? Snoke?

That is how you fall to the dark side

During those first few words of the trailer, did anyone else think that maybe...

Snoke is actually talking to Rey, and not Kylo like the trailer leads us to believe?

Our own EnterpriseRules floated a theory that we might end the Sequel Trilogy with Rey going dark, and the new trailer for The Last Jedi is making me think he could be right, which would be neat... especially if they "flipped the script" and brought Kylo/Ben back to the light and made him the protagonist in the end.

Yeah, I wondered the same. It's probably just misdirection with the final shots of the trailer, but I do think it would be interesting to see the trilogy go in that direction with Rey.
