Episode A Week: The Last Outpost.

Man, I find Wesley annoying too, but aren't we crossing a line by wanting his mom to off him? :p

Think of the drama and confliction that would have created. A lá Dr. McCoy in ST:V.

This episode was just.... weird. When I watched it, I thought the whole point of the episode was to showcase the Ferengi as being a prett creepy and powerful race, until we actually got to meet them and they're pretty much nothing. That is what I honestly believed until I learned that they were supposed to be a serious threat throughout even after their reveal.

I do have to ask, did they really need to put that much make up on Darryl Henrique for the Portal? I thought he had a pretty cool and cold looking presence in Star Trek VI, yet he's so unrecognizable here.

I had no idea Darryl Henriques also played the Romulan in that film. Cool find.

I guess they wanted him to look alien, although besides the eyes he just reads as human to the camera.

I never once thought he looked alien. He looked more like some medieval wizard who accidentally put a fork in an electrical outlet.

Not every alien design can be a winner with the pressures of weekly television. I imagine most of the make-up efforts that week went to the Ferengi, intended to be the ongoing antagonists of the series (whoops!).
