Yeah, that's a pretty weird list. The other two make sense, more or less - even though I have minor objections. But the DS9 list just makes my mind boggle. Dax and Invasive Procedures are apparently also better than Duet, which is only 5th?Looking over that list, the only explanation that makes sense is that the people who compiled it were big TNG fans who preferred standalone, TNG-like episodes - especially if they featured TNG characters, like The Forsaken or Q-less - while most arc-based episodes or those who feature shadier characters and storylines more typical for DS9 tend to be seriously underrated on this list. For instance, the Circle 3-parter is very low on the list, and an average, TNG-lite episode like Melora is above The Wire.
Yeah, it seems that way. Still, I don't understand how a standalone like Necessary Evil of Whispers or even Blood Oath could be ranked lower than The Nagus. Then again, I never understood why people liked the Ferengi episodes so much. I've seen way too many top 10 lists that have Little Green Men and The Magnificent Ferengi in them. I mean, Wallace Shawn is funny, and a few scenes between Odo and Lwaxana in The Forsaken were surprisingly touching, but seriously...
And as far as the comment about The Empath, I agree. I think that's one of the most moving episodes. And I never understood all the hate for The Savage Curtain.
