Enterprise!!!!!!

Hello all I am a newbie to this forum although I have been watching Star Trek in all its carnations for the last 30 years or so.
I have just finished collecting the entire series (Original through to Enterprise) on dvd and have been watching them one by one since some time last year.
I have to admit Voyager was a bit of a chore to get through but I am now part way through season 3 of Enterprise and although I had seen all the others on tv etc it is the first time I have watched Enterprise. I think it is just about the best Star Trek I have ever seen. It is simply superb! I have just watched the episode 'Impulse' and it had more genuine suspense and action than all seven seasons of Voyager! I cannot understand how they got the film Nemisis so wrong while they were making this series at the same time.
The acting, the tone and stories are spot on. I only wish they had continued on for seven seasons.
Hope I have not upset Voyager fans!

I don't know about Voyager fans, but I have no doubt Deep Space Nine fans would have a fit if you dare talk badly about their show.

Well, Brannon Braga wasn't involved with Nemesis. That might have had something to do with it.

Anyway, I rather liked Enterprise; though I had serious problems with it.

Until I had seen Enterprise my favorite series was DS:9, and I still hold it in very high regard, along with of course ST:NG, but Enterprise seems wholly different and you can certainly see how it was the most expensive tv show for its time. The effects are outstanding. I cannot understand now why it was cancelled.

I loved the effects, but I really loved how low-tech ENT was. I loved the NASA-esque jumpsuits and grapplers because I felt I could relate a little better than the way-too-futuristic future tech of other series

Who is your favorite character? Episode (so far)?

Favorite episode, I am not sure yet, they are all so good, but Impulse and Twilight (which I am watching as I write this) are superb. Effects are superlative, and for the first time in any Trek, hand to hand combat actually looks real!
Favorite characters have to be Archer and Trip.

Trip is my favorite, but I like everyone on the show. I think this cast has the best chemistry since TOS. (And they're the youngest and best looking, too!)



BTW: I see you also posted this over in General Trek. That forum is for discussing all of Trek (like comparing episodes across the Trekverse, voting on favorite characters from all the show, talking about all of the series, etc.) When you want to post a subject, try to pick the best location for it (this is a good one for the ENT forum) and only post it once.

I think Enterprise could be made into a damn fine film, for just those reasons.
