Enterprise Incident quickie WIP.

You know, it's funny, it seems to be OK to flame me and attack me, but when I say something non-appropo, I get slammed with a warning and ban? Strange?

So where exactly did an attack from Griff come from? Where can we view this attack in his WIP thread that prompted you to launch into your derogatory remarks there?

but to stomp on someone elses thread is just wrong, whether it's me or anyone else. That's my oppinion.

Your not in the habit of following your own standards?

I'm sure glad TBonz changed the rule and Trek Art is now a no-holds barred, stand-your-ground-and-take-it zone.

...wait...that's the TNZ?

Same difference.

Nice work,Thomas. :bolian: It's cool to see you playing with your toys. :D I'll be interested in seeing how yours turns out, KirkTrekModeler.

Well........ I did get some more work done on this today, but I still can't find all of the parts. I found the directions for three kits, so I know I have another one around here some where. I also found an old 1/2500 kit, a couple actually... Anyway here's a shot of the Enterprise Incident 1701, along with a real /2500 Enterprise from one of the three ship kits. I had to fix it, it had a broken wing, but it's all better now. Still no decals....????

This has nothing to do with Trek, but it's what I've spent my time on when the EI started making my eyes hurt.

If I find the rest of the parts and the decals, I'll finish this up. I will show some Klingon pics tomorrow.

Well everything else aside, this build is coming along very nicely. Are you missing the decals to the EI or the 3 set kit?

Yep. I'm pretty sure I've got a third kit, in the garage, but I've spent half of the summer putting in a loft and covering the exterior with CDX, in preparation for new siding. I know it's out there, finding it's the fun part.

ThomasModels - nice job on the miniature lighting job, and on the 11" model, as well. However, that post was little but a snark against KirkTrekModeler; start your own thread if you want to show off your work, but if the point is to show up someone, leave it off this board.

KirkTrekModeler, while we're on the subject, there's little doubt in my mind that this thread is itself a thinly-veiled troll against another board member, as well, and, damn it, you've been told time and again about that. If you want to wonder why you tend to accrue warnings, look only to your own behavior and your unwillingness or inability to abide by the board's rules, or by the moderator's directives. One warning for trolling. Don't even bother contesting this.

Brutal Strudel - you're not helping the situation. One warning for flaming here; whether you were trying to be funny or not, it was unnecessary.

lakespeed, welcome to the board, and congratulations on getting a warning for flaming on your very first post (you could've done without the last sentence). If this is the sole reason you joined, don't bother, and I'll tell you the same thing I've told these other miscreants: the TrekBBS is not the place to continue arguments from other boards, nor will we permit these arguments to color the activities here (clearly, there's more than enough color being generated right here, and it's going to stop or we'll just perma-ban the lot of you!)

Thanks for making this board so much fun to moderate, guys! :brickwall:

"Miscreants" sir?

Name calling, grouping individuals, and threats of a display of power....

However, your comments and actions here coupled with your allowing these posts which you deem as unacceptable behavior (including showing commercial art in an art forum?) for days before you threaten action against "the lot" demonstrates your inability to effectively and dispasionately moderate this section of this forum.

As you interpret my work as snarky to fellow board members and leaving it off the board...you can now include me with the others who due to similar moderation no longer read this forum, participate or show their work here, sir.

Thomas, I for one, would be sorry to see you go. I like your work.

You also need to lighten up. You didn't even get a warning for pity's sake. I personally didn't find your post snarky but I can also see Ptrope's perspective. And can't Ptrope take a weekend off from the Internet? I hope we all do one time or another.

Miscreants - good word! :bolian:

My God, that cat is drunk, watching porn and playing with itself. Dude, have you no scruples? :cardie:

OK, this thread spiraled out of control before I was allowed to finish it. "IF" and only "IF" I can finish this thread by finishing this model, will I. I really don't want to keep getting banned, or warned, for having my own oppinion, or doing things my own way. This is not drama, I'm just trying to get this back on track, as I have before.

"If" I work on a kit and the size of the parts makes my eyes hurt.... why does that offend anyone? I have said repeatedly, perhaps not in this forum, or this thread, but around the net...."I don't have the eyes I used to and I'm not used to working with stuff this small." That' just a fact. I'm 45, I'm not a kid any more, so my eyes are not what they used to be. I've worked construction and as an engineer and an electrician most of my adult life. I have not worked on small stuff all my life. I had an electronics job, while attending college and even then, it drove me nuts. Again, another fact. I like bigger models, sorry. When I bought the first three piece kit, especially in the huge box it came in, I expected something.....bigger. I literally felt ripped off, when I looked inside, really! Same thing with the EI kit, even though I really just wanted the boards. I'm sorry that offends people, but it's just my oppinion. Every one has an oppinion. Yes, at times I can be a bit quirky, have been all my life....One of the big reasons why my name used to be..... Captain Quirk. Life Shatner, I'm a jokester and a prankster, I have a very quick wit and it just comes out. Please don't get upset, it's all in fun.

Take care, Keep on Trekkin! BUT please, it's all in fun.

I started this thing, I'd like to finish it and put it to bed, but I will not move forward until I get the go ahead from TPTB. I mean really.....it's just a model.

Peace. :D :guffaw: :rommie: :bolian:

I really don't need the directions, because it's such a simple kit. All of these dinky, little kits are.

KirkTrekModeler said:
Man, this is going toooooo fast. What a simple thing. I just hate building kits that I have to have a magnifying glass to see the parts for. Whew!.

KirkTrekModeler said:
The problem is that it's so small that even with the micro option on the camera, I can't get a good photo.

KirkTrekModeler said:
this thing is so small, I can't get any of the detail. It all kind of blends together.

KirkTrekModeler said:
I don't know, I just don't see the attraction to the small, teeny, tiny, eensy, weensy, diminutive scale.

KirkTrekModeler said:
The though of having to use a microscope to see the detail on a ship is amusing.

Sure sounds like baiting to me. In every post you make it a point to say how small the kit is.

"By man's own words shall he be condemed."

Most of what I've said is just my oppinion. I stumbled across the box for the first part of this while cleaning the garage and thought "I should do this and get it done."

My wife will tell you, I've been on a bent lately. I've got more than a dozen kits in play, right now. I'll be gving some away and some will go on my shelves, in the garage. You know why these little kits have never been finished, with a few exceptions? Because of all the reasons above. I've lost parts, misplaced decals and have lost entire ships. I still can't find a single Refit, out of three or four kits. I'm just trying to get them done and get rid of them. I just found two other three piece kits last night. The Adversary kit and B, C, E kit. I've got more than enough of these little things to complete two, or three displays, if I can find a flippen Refit.

I'm sorry, but they are small and they fall behind things and are fragile. It's not a flame to state the obvious is it? Four to ten parts per ship and decals.... of course it's going to go fast, if you have all the parts. I'm still out half a Klingon ship. I'm trying to find and sort them all out. That's the only reason they are not done.

I'm trying to get my garage done before it gets cold and these boxes are in my way, along with a lot of other stuff. I lost almost two weeks because of the heat wave, so I got to roll. When I'm not outside working on the garage, I'm knocking these models out, trouble is, I keep finding more. :brickwall:

Unnecessary, lakespeed. Please refrain from such posts in the future; it's perilously close to trolling, as well (not to mention spamming). Consider this one a friendly. Discuss the content of the posts, not the poster.

Now let's get back to the topic, folks (and please, everyone, take this advice for any other thread on this board where you're tempted to stray into dangerous waters  ).
