Enterprise grows on you

I gave up on Ent in the 2nd season. It just felt too formulaic Trek and it didn't seem like the writers were taking advantage of the time period very well. It felt like rewritten Voyager eps.
Years later, I caught season 3 and LOVED it. Completely different show. One of the best seasons of any Trek series. (I'm a 9er so that shouldn't come as a surprise) Now, Ill watch any year 3 or 4 ep whenever they're on.

I think the pilot was awfully boring and the first few episodes gave me the impression not just of a fledgling Starfleet crew but of a fledgling crew of writers and producers. As the show continued, the plot and characters developed and grew and became more mature, especially during the Xindi arc, I started to really like it, and held on to this feeling until the end, even with eventual setbacks into childishness such as in "Extinction". Alas, I have not much base for comparison as I've not seen any other series.

You mean to say you haven't watched any other Trek series?!

What are you waiting for?!?!

i started with voyager, then DS9 and now ENT. i like all trek. my next trek will be TOS, then the movies, then TNG.

ENT is good in its own way.

ENT is awesome.

I was amused by someone upthread saying they thought it was too "formulaic Trek" in the first seasons. Yes I agree, it veered that way BUT.. so many others claim it is not Trek at all! It always feels like classic Trek to me. Sometimes it is same old, same old and sometimes it is fantastic, mindblowing Trek.

It still feels like the most modern of the series. TOS feels classic. TNG now feels 80's and that is not good. For me, DS9 and VOY have not started feeling old yet, but I was really surprised the last time I watched TNG through how dated it seemed.

YOU are my FRIEND!!

I'm an ommitrekker.

Me too. I'll watch Trek, no matter what, multiple times.

It's home.

This... in theory. In fact... there are a few episodes I can't bare to watch again, like "Fusion", that DS9 baseball one or the Next Gen where the transporter turns the crew into children.

I like Fusion AND Take Me Out to the Holosuite AND Disaster (I think it was Disaster). There's no accounting for taste, I guess :p

I find that even the ones I really find cringe worthy the first time round (and Take Me Out to the Holosuite was certainly one) I end up thoroughly enjoying with repeated viewings. I might be paying more attention to one character than the storyline or it might just seem really funny to me by then. Or I might see a ton of foreshadowing in lines and expressions which isn't actually there but it's there for me.

So in something like Profit and Lace which is execrable on so many levels there is always the costuming, lol.

Rascals.

Disaster is the one where the ship is hit by a string filament and Picard is stuck in a turbolift with three kids while Troi is in command of the ship.

Yeah, Rascals. Thanks! Isn't Disaster the one where Worf delivers Miles' kid? I need to watch TNG again. Funny that it's been looking so dated lately. I'd stopped watching it for that reason. But it's still one of Trek's best.
