Haha, I agree. The red-white-gold skin, super-dreads, and weird rope thing in her hair, coupled with the huge change in attitude didn't work for me. I'm working on writing the original purple Trance into Star Trek: Enterprise as a stowaway during a season 1 'episode' which will be set on that Rigel station.
For my purpose, she's not an avatar of a sun, she's just a regular alien whose species evolved on a jungle/forest planet, necessitating the continued evolutionary advantage of the long tails.
