Ugh. I hope not.

I wouldn't mind seeing this in the new movie.

I would imagine we will see something similar to this in the new movie. Infact I wouldn't be suprised if its this one.

I feel that all those holding out for an untouched or near-untouched version of the original NCC-1701 are going to be disappointed ... based on rumours and recent comments from people involved the ship has definitely been re-designed and will look different.

Which means, I won't be watching.
It's official: Trek is dead.

This is what I've been calling the 'anime enterprise'. A terrific design, but far too busy. To stylized for a more realistic look that I would hope the new film will provide.
Certainly I hope for a radical redesign of the ship. I don't see any reason not to 're-imagine' Star Trek, just as ST:TMP and ST:TWoK made huge design changes.
And really, as much as I love the original designs I certainly don't expect this movie to emulate 40 year old sci-fi designs beyond a mild homage. We don't even live in the same century anymore. Heck, can we just get over the Eugenics Wars of 1996 and move on?![]()
