If you can't see the similarities, I suggest you book an appointment with an eye doctor.Let's not fool ourselves. There is nothing faithful to the original designs except the basic shapes and maybe a splash of color here or there. Otherwise it's all different and so far removed from TOS that we can now just assume this is all a reboot, which it should have been originally.
After we work through Battlestar Galactica, I think we'll give Deep Space Nine a go.
Are you including Galactica: 1980 ? I am one of those in the minority who actually likes it....
I really, really don't. The thing is already too busy without it. Sometimes less is more.I noticed the set lacks any of the holographic glass originally seen as a special effect on the Kelvinprise bridge, and then in real-life form on the Shenzhou and Discovery bridge sets.
I miss it.
Well the ones on Discovery at least are real functioning screens.I noticed the set lacks any of the holographic glass originally seen as a special effect on the Kelvinprise bridge, and then in real-life form on the Shenzhou and Discovery bridge sets.
I miss it.

it like Battlestar Galactica?" "It's got a lot of similarities." "Well, maybe that sounds interesting."
me too. and it's so great that they were able to achieve them practically on those sets, they should've found a way to integrate them here.I noticed the set lacks any of the holographic glass originally seen as a special effect on the Kelvinprise bridge, and then in real-life form on the Shenzhou and Discovery bridge sets.

The new captain's chair has wider arms that are angled at the front, flanges, additional wooden pieces down the sides, etc, compared to TOS:

That's an opinion, not fact.
Of course not. But they completely changed it. Dimensions are wrong, color is wrong, extra doors, hallway, helm is larger, view screen isn't even a passing resemblance. They could have done a better job. Just because we get a red/orange railing and a symmetrical captains chair doesn't mean it's a good take. They could have designed something that was more in line with the dimensions and layout. Take the chair for example. That is a good subtle upgrade. They should have applied that thinking to the whole bridge and interior for that matter....instead it is so far removed from the original design there is no way of reconciling it. No matter how hard everyone tries.I like it good take on the tos bridge, would ppl have been happy if they had walked out into the 60s brigde
