Bruce Campbell in "Jack of All Trades":
from that show's Wikipedia entry:
In many ways, the show was meant to be a historical fantasy in the vein of Campbell's 1993–1994 western series The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. and the 1965–1969 adventure show The Wild Wild West. The swashbuckling Jack Stiles character also resembles the flamboyant Autolycus ("the King of Thieves"), a recurring role Campbell played on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess.

I'm not exactly going out on a limb here by saying you never actually saw the show or even knew anything about it, did you? OMG! Is that Lord of the Rings? Or Harry Potter? It's so fantasy! Look at all the magic spells and elves and dragons!
Earl is fine. doesn't matter if it ran one season or 5, if you feel it was brilliant and canceled before its time then it qualifies. Are we limiting this to a first season cancellation? Up to and including a full season?
I mean, My Name Is Earl had 4 seasons, but then got canned. And I thought that was a brilliant show, in my mind anyway.
