Yes, he's a dragon. Actually, a baby dragon, although he behaves much older, like he's in his tweens or early teens or something like that. And in regards to his origins, he was found by one of the ponies as an egg left on the doorstep, and aside from that not much is known about his origin. And, yes, all the mane cast (pun intended ) ponies are girls, or rather, mares. The background and recurring ponies are of both genders, of course.

As you can obviously see all the ponies died in a horrible horrible nuclear explosion in the previous av, and Spike the dragon is the only survivor, so I guess you thus must allow it, and as I say, this is obviously an anti-pony av [...]

Yeah, well, I didn't issue a "no ponies" edict this time, so you don't have to worry about your avatar being disqualified -- "anti-pony" or otherwise.
