Emilia Clarke cast as Sarah Connor in Terminator reboot

I had a thought about Nick Stahl.

Because of the wobbling goalposts with the timeline maybe Johns conception was also wobbling?

5 minutes too early, or 5 minutes too late and a different sperm inseminates Sarah's egg.

(Rules as dictated in About Time.)

Everytime someone sends anything into the past before Johns Birth, a different sperm always breeches her egg.

Not all John Connors are created equal.

I'm half remembering something about Jane Connor?

interesting point. That's partly why I always thought Reese could only be John's father and nobody else since the timeline would be changed far too much and John might not even end up being born.

Nature vs. Nurture. Could inferior sperm outwit the mother of the revolution?

As long as Sarah raised the kid something John-Connor like was going to come out the other end.

You notice how sometimes two brothers even form the same parents can be very dissimilar?

Although she has a type.

Remind me, was Sarah banging Derek Reese before the Sarah Connor Chronicles were cancelled?

Just saw the new trailer. I thought this was going to be a future movie like Salvation (which I really liked but most people seemed to hate). I'm really disappointed this is going to be yet another rehash of the first movie set in the past/present day. It's basically Sarah Connor Chronicles with a bigger budget...

I thought the trailer look pretty good. It didn't wow me as much as the Age of Ultron, Jurassic World, or The Force Awakens trailers, but it still has a lot of potential. While it is another "Let's stop Judgement Day" story, it looks like they're trying to take things in a slightly different direction with the Old Terminator and Sarah stuff. I did notice we didn't appear to see Matt Smith's mysterious character anywhere in the trailer.

All this complaining about the acting is kind of funny. It is one of the only things that is true to the original movie--Bad, melodramatic, over acting...

I wonder if Sarah was nice enough to "move" the other Sarah Connors in the phone directory out of LA or at least pay them/force them to get unlisted phone numbers, or even erase their phone numbers from the phone book for that year.

Of course if Sarah was a little more homespun, she would either marry them off to persons not named Connor, or force a divorce to any Sarah who married a man named Connor.

We see in the trailer that she and Old Man Terminator took out the T800 when it arrived in 1984, so the other two Sarah Connors should be just fine.

But that's really arrogant (not you, in the movie).

There's what, a 10 percent Chance that the "original" Terminator can survive/escape/runaway from that conflict, so the other Sarah's were only 90 percent safe and frankly that lackadaisical behaviour from the so called saviour.

NO?

Sarah is the/is only the Madonna, and not the saviour?

Tempus Madonna?

My bad.

If Kyle does haven't any sweet moves then the Madonna is going to be like a Virgin at the end of the pic.

apparently this guy was in contention for Reece. To me, just form this picture, he looks more like Biehn circa 1984 than Jai.

According to the imdb trivia. the animatronics were provided by Legacy Effects, a company formed from Stan Winston's studio. Perfect name for a company.. because Winston's animatronics were spectacular. I'm really happy.

I've never seen a film as badly miscast as this one.

After Cameron went away from the idea to cast Schwarzenegger as Reese, they cast a pretty lean guy that actually looked like a guy coming from a never ending war on the verge of extinction. And the new Kyle Reese looks like he's on a solid diet and training regime, or on steroids.

I do like the Back to the Future 2 element of an old Arnold meeting the young one from T1, but that's about it.

Nice try.

Yeah, I was just messing around...although, I am not a fan of some of the lines Linda Hamilton was forced to deliver in the second movie.

I just watched the trailer. Other than repeating all of the catch phrases (and thankfully they are the only ones), I think it looks fine. My wife is a huge Terminator fan of the first two movies so I know she'll want to go.

Absolutely.

But in addition Biehn sold it with his facial expression, the worry in his face, and - at times -his inability to express his feelings using words. Next to Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, he was the epitome of a male hero to look up to for me as a kid.

I would have gone for Sebastian Stan.

Actually, I would have just got Michael Biehn and Linda Hamilton and made a story set in a timeline(s) were they all survived and then done some funky parallel storytelling with them realising that things are even shitter with them alive so they all sacrifice themselves. A sort of Yesterday's Enterprise.

Nope, not yet. He had stuff going on with his gf/ex gf from an alternate future and supposedly put a bullet in her.

I heard Kyle might have made a reappearance in Sararh's current timeline if there had been a season 3.

Sigh. It's fine. But, it feels so much of been there done that. I'm bored of the war between humans and machines, bored, bored, bored with the same line, "We can stop judgement day!" I swear, I sorta want the machines to win at this point.

Not that I'm necessarily disagreeing with you, but the war between humans and machines is kinda what the franchise is about. It's the linchpin of the series. If you're bored of that then there really isn't much these films can offer you.

Is it the linchpin though? I would be fine if it was about the war between humans and machines if there was progression on it. Maybe it's not the war itself that I'm tired of but, the same, "We can stop Judgement day!" Three out of the five movies are about that. The story keeps circling back in on itself.

The only movie that really deals with the war is Salvation. The first movie is more of a covert action during the war. And as I said, the other three are about preventing judgement day (again.)

Three of the movies are variations on the first. Present day, a terminator from the future is trying to kill someone, and someone from the future its trying to stop it.

I wish the franchise was about the war between humans and machines, like really about that. It's just a backdrop for the same chase story.
