Edward Jellico in the Dominion War??

Tuskin38

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Are there any novels that involved Jellico and the Dominion War? I know he shows up in post-DW novels. But is there anything with him in the war?

Yeah, Jellico's character has usually been in the New Frontier playground, and NF vaulted right over most of the Dominion War.

Yeah, I checked Memory Beta and he jumped from the NF books, which didn't deal with the DW, to the A Time To...books, which were set a few years after it.

That sucks. I think it would be a great topic to cover IMO. He seems like a very war focused Captain.

Of course, the New Frontier books also begin before the Dominion War kicked off - they start somewhere around the aftermath of First Contact, I believe, so by the time that the Dominion War starts, Jellico is already in the admiralty, not commanding a starship.

Yah, the only thing Jellico heavy was the comic Turnaround which takes place in 2379. Perhaps Starfleet thought he had enough on his hands attempting to keep an eye on Calhoun from his San Francisco office at HQ.

And they don't have to spend a whole book about the Excaliburs battles in the Dominion war, but maybe a chapter.

From what I remember, Jellico is a rear admiral, lower half (one-star) in command of Deep Space 5 in 2373 in Star Trek: New Frontier and the next appearance of him was as an admiral (of indeterminate stars) serving at Starfleet Headquarters in 2379 during Star Trek: A Time to...; based on him becoming the Commander-in-Chief of Starfleet in 2380, I lean toward him being a full four-star admiral in 2379. And, of course, he resigned his post and retired in the aftermath of Star Trek: Destiny in 2381, and I imagine him living out his civilian life with his children and/or grandchildren ever since.

Oh, as I'm writing this, it's coming back to me that in 2376 (the Deep Space Nine: Relaunch era) that Cmdr. Vaughn doesn't particularly care for Jellico, and I think Vaughn mentioned that he was back on Earth (or at least a notable member of the admiralty) at the time.

So, Jellico probably spent some or all of the War at Deep Space 5 before being kicked upstairs to Starfleet Headquarters.
