Easter Eggs? (Spoilers)

I have a DVD and it's a real copy and a legal one, just not the "for sale" variety. My boyfriend received an advanced copy about a week ago for "official purposes". I've watched the scene and unless it's going to be added later, I probably just need it pointed out to me.
Oh, then I must apologize. Sorry, superstring01. I did not take that possibility into consideration. But you must admit, it was rather unlikely that I was actually talking to someone who had the luck of getting the DVD.

Indeed, I'm not sure I should even be watching it. But there's pretty much no stopping me.

Maybe not so much Easter Eggs but homages or just curious observations on my part but I noticed that McCoy was wearing a ring on his left pinky finger, same as DeForest Kelly did. Then I noticed that Admiral Pike was wearing a ring as well when he shakes Kirk's hand at the end of the movie when he's being relieved of command. I was thinking that maybe these are officers rings upon graduating Starfleet Academy...

Also the uniforms that the officers of the Kelvin wore...they seemed to be sort of transistional jumpsuits from ENT to TOS. They've been growing on me.

IIRC, McCoy's ring was De Kelly's wedding ring (since he didn't want to take it off for filming), and fanon was that it was McCoy's wedding ring from before his divorce.

That is EXTREMELY cool. Thanks for pointing that out, I never noticed either Kelly's or Urban's ring.

That ring I have noticed. Also the colour of his shirt always reminds me of the 60's and makes me think of "Tomorrow is Yesterday". That particular shade of blue.

OOooo.. do you think it was deliberate?

simon pegg also has a ring on toward the end.

the kelvin uniforms especially reminded me of the desert uniforms from enterprise.

Here's the Millennium Falcon in First Contact (left of cube, hard to see):

Yeah, and the Kelvin uniforms AREN'T part of the changed timeline either. If you don't like them you can't just wish them away as the result of time travel altering Starfleet fashion around 2233. They're what Starfleet wore twenty years before "The Cage" both before Nero showed up and after.

I'm starting to think R2 might be in a background photo or shelf in the Iowa bar where Kirk meets Uhura and Pike for the very first time.

True. But NOT necessarily before the events of First Contact and the changes in the series, Enterprise. :p
