Early concept for "Spock's Brain"

Most of those things are just superficial changes. They really don't make the episode any better or worse than it already is.

The crossed wires scene would steal what little gravitas the episode has left (aside from the utter disbelief of "his brain is GONE?!! who steals a brain?!!")

The using Spock's brain to run a city reminds me of the Brain & Brawn Ship series series of books by Anne McCaffrey. The premise of the series is quadraplegic {and other paralyzed individuals are given an opportunity for a full life by integrating their minds and bodies into spaceships and space stations. The ships become the person's encounter suit (so to speak) or cyborg body. They fly the ship, etc.

It's really a great series. Only recently did I make a connection with Spock's Brain.

This is the first episode I remember watching as someone old enough to understand and remember most of what was happening so I have a soft spot for it.
