Looks like Skins has been picked up for another 2 series. Once again the entire cast will be changed and auditions held for new talent.

The ending of last night's episode made me feel physically sick. So good job, I guess!
I decided to stay away from seasons 3 and 4, it felt too soon and the only two characters being carried over (Effy and Pandora) didn't appeal to me. But I may give these new-new kids a go.
I haven't watched last night's yet. Last one I saw was Effy & Freddie. I think this series has been slightly better than last, but I'm not liking the second generation as much as the first.
Fair enough, I think the third series was a bit try hard to be honest and all in all they've been more disjointed in series 3 and 4 than 1 and 2 but I find they're decent enough.
The JJ episode was good. Last night's was alright then...well, you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it.
The JJ episode was good because JJ's the only character remaining I still really like of the new cast. I loved the Emily/Naomi stuff in series 3 and then the stuff they've had both characters do this year has pretty much done away with that.
I'm kinda bummed they used Georgia Henshaw for JJ's girlfriend though, she would have been a decent pick for the next cast as she's always said she was a huge Skins fan and auditioned for the first two series, but wasn't old enough for them to use.

I watched the JJ ep last night... Him and Thomas are the ones I really like of the second gen cast. They seem to be the ones that have real problems and strive to get past them, whereas the rest seem to have easy lives and make their own problems.
I liked Effy more when she didn't talk. Cook and Freddie always seemed try hard to me, Pandora you don't see enough of to know cos I did like her even if she was irritating. Naomi and Emily were interesting last series but this series they seem to have thrown a spanner in the works for no good reason, the stress and worry of moving apart or staying together and travelling could have been interesting enough to see play out between them with Emily being all confident about her sexuality and Naomi not being. Katie I never liked but her episode I kinda liked.

I see what you mean, that was a powerful ending... Even without your comment I knew there was something going on with the psychologist well before anything happened but I wasn't quite expecting that.
I'm pretty sure next week it'll come out that he's been raping Effy during their sessions too. It's gong to be hard to get a happy ending, isn't it?

I had heard things about how episode 7 had a very odd ending, but I was expecting the shrink to have tried to sexually assault effy while under Hypnosis or something along those lines. But to have him break out a bat and kill Freddie? Jesus.
I still don't get why Freddie didn't charge into him and try to close the distance. Speaking as someone who has been in a fight with someone using a bat if you aren't able to run away you're better off tackling into them.
Then we get to the finale and it was just a whole lot more confusion. What was with the whole Ghost Whisperer-esque Freddie voice? Plus the way the characters were acting was strange. It was almost like some of the characters watched the last episode and knew Freddie had been murdered.

Panda got in because she secretly took more exams, and got A+ in all of them, they showed this when she was looking at her exam results listening to Thomas teach Katy French.
Thomas got a scholarship, there was the talk with the coach at the track. But yeah, both these series of Skins have seemed light on deeper explanation of anything and haven't really connected the stories in the way the first 2 did.

Just to say I hardly saw any of Series 1-2, but I half watched Series 3 and have seen most of Series 4. I don't really love it, but its just something I'll put on if I'm bored.

JJ had his closure earlier. He got a girlfriend and a bit of normality outside of the weirdness with his "friends", but while I kinda like the feel of just looking in on their lives for a short time, I, too, dislike this feel of lack of closure.
So I guess Panda was just ditzy, but actually a genius? I must have not been paying attention enough in the finale to miss when she was looking at the extra exam results.
I still don't understand how Thomas got into Harvard though. He didn't have any grades did he? Then they said he got in on a scholarship for running, but Harvard (and the other Ivy League schools like Yale, Princeton, etc...) don't offer athletic scholarships.

She was sat outside listening to Thomas talking in French to Katy, and got upset because he was talking about sex with her, and she looked down at her exam results and had A+ for all 3 listed including French.
Do the schools have to offer the scholarship? It sounded like whoever the sports team were at the track were offering the scholarship, but still, given that Thomas was expelled from collage and had no grades I would think he'd have a tough time getting in anywhere straight away, never mind Harvard.
