Is there anyway that I (here in the UK) can pick up Stitch in Time, from a US store? I really want to read it, but it's not on sale here.

Yes! Go here: https://www.ebooks.com/en-us/book/136175/a-stitch-in-time/andrew-j-robinson/

That will take you to the US site of ebooks.com. It will bug you and ask if you want to change to the UK store - say no, and stay on the US site. Add it to your basket, checkout as guest, and then pay for it using Paypal. You'll then be able to download it as an ePub format.

The February sales are starting. Here's what I've found so far:

TNG: Vendetta
PIC: The Dark Veil ($1.99)
TNG: Imzadi Forever
TOS: The Romulan Way
Dark Passions (each book in the duology is $0.99)

EDIT: All Picard novels are $1.99, and the list has been updated on the Simon & Schuster Trek ebook deals page.

Note that, as was the case when it went on sale in 2019, the book listed as Imzadi Forever is actually just the original Imzadi, not the omnibus with both books, which has a separate listing with Signature Edition in the title.

@Smiley

Don’t forget the February Trek Deals are good until 2/26/2023.

Yeah all the Star Trek Picard novels are on sale from Picard: Last Best Hope to the newest ebook: Picard: Second Self.

CORRECTION all 4 Picard ebooks are all $.99 cents including the Dark Veil as per the Trek sales page, except on Amazon it is $1.99. Lord knows why.

Sorry. Hopefully, the price will drop on Amazon too?

All the best.

All the Picard books are $1.99 at each retailer I checked (not just Amazon), so it’s more likely that the publisher’s deal page is wrong.

It looks like the deal page has been corrected, it is showing the Picard novels as $1.99 when I look at it now.

On Amazon just now on 2/25/2023 two Star Trek Discovery ebooks are on sale for $.99 cents...

Star Trek Discovery The Way to the Stars
Star Trek Discovery Die Standing

They might be a part of March’s Trek Deals. I will update my post as more go on sale. These two ebooks have been a part of past sales, so check your accounts accordingly.

All the best,

The full page is up on the Simon and Schuster site for March. They are celebrating DS9 and women with these titles:

DS9: Unity
DS9: Fearful Symmetry
DSC: Drastic Measures
DSC: The Way to the Stars
DSC: Die Standing
VOY: Shadow
VOY: Homecoming
TNG: Survivors
TOS: Uhura's Song
DS9: The Lives of Dax

This is a light month for me, unless anyone can make a good case for any of the DS9 books, Homecoming or Survivors.

Unity is a very strong story with some pivotal events to the DS9 narrative. It is the only book set post-"What You Leave Behind" that I would consider as an alternate series finale.

The Lives of Dax is a short story anthology with some outstanding stories and nothing that I remember as a clunker.

Survivors was okay but may be worth $1 if you are a fan of Tasha Yar. For obvious reasons, she does not get that many books devoted to her character.

Thanks! I'm a little reticent to dip into any of the post-series DS9 books as I expect that's an area most likely to be overwritten by future television stories.

Survivors is a decent enough read - suffers from the same issues as most of the early ST:TNG numbered novels, with characters inconsistent to how they're portrayed in the series - but it's actually one of the better stories in there, and the insight into Tasha Yar's background is actually more interesting than the version that eventually overwrote it in Legacy.

And as noted above, The Lives of Dax is really good - an excellent collection of stories, highly recommended.

I would say, rather, inconsistent to how they were later portrayed in the series. At the time it was published, Survivors was perfectly consistent with the show. In particular, Data wasn't retconned to be emotionless until the start of season 3, so the tentative emotionality Data showed in Survivors was completely consistent with the Data who told Armus "I think you should be destroyed" in "Skin of Evil" and who said in "The Measure of a Man" that Tasha had been important to him. And Tasha's Turkana IV backstory and her sister Ishara weren't established until the 100th episode of TNG.

In principle, all novels go through approval to make sure they're consistent with the show at the time of publication, so inconsistencies usually only arise after the fact -- although the long lead times on books mean that sometimes a contradiction happens after the manuscript is locked down but before the book hits the shelves.
