Instead of getting these from Amazon, get them from eBooks.com or Kobo and get them in ePub.

Sure, just ignoring the mod is certainly one strategy.

As per our rules, please do not hotlink images from S&S's site. I have converted your hotlinked images to links. To reiterate, if you feel the need to post the covers here, you will need to upload the images to an image hosting service and then reference them from there. Please don't do this any more.

21 books for September. That's a heck of a lot.

Twenty-two... it looks like you missed Children of the Storm.

I note that you also posted four times in rapid succession, which is also against the rules. Please post no more than twice in a row.

I hope that next month has Acts of Contrition, Atonement, The IDIC Epidemic, and Time for Yesterday to continue the story from some of this month’s deals.

Nice Spock theme this month. I just wrapped up the Coda books from last months sale...not gonna lie I teared up a lil. I've been reading these books for so long (since middle school) that you form a connection with the characters. Anyways.....glad these sales have gone on for years. My Trek collection on Kindle is insane at this point.

Nice Spock theme this month.

Yeah, is there a news peg or something that prompted this? It's not Leonard Nimoy's birthday, that was my first thought, nor is it an anniversary for "Amok Time" or "Journey to Babel."

Was it just, "Gotta pick some Star Trek books for the October sale, let's do a bunch of Spock ones?"

My inner Marketing Professional often looks at the monthly sales and goes, "Huh?" I would have made a pitch for something like Slings and Arrows, Double Helix, or A Time To to (roughly) coincide with the TNG 35th-anniversary last week. But that might make too much sense.

Vulcans are perennial favorite Star Trek aliens, and Spock is the face of the franchise. This month's book sales make for a solid follow-up to the massive sale last month from multiple series.

October is Halloween month, and there were a few references in TOS to Spock looking like a devil...?

Yeah, I’ve got nothing.

Confirmed too SAREK is $.99 cents on Amazon. Thanks to @AygoSquirrel

Just a heads up to our long time Trek sales followers:

MOST of these are repeats in the past EXCEPT Spock’s World, Vulcan Heart, Vulcan’s forge.

@Smiley All the ebooks you mentioned have been on sale in the past except A Time for Yesterday.

@Allyn Gibson I agree wholeheartedly. I don’t understand why there wasn’t a promotion for TNG like 35 of the best TNG ebooks for 35th anniversary. A huge splash like that a so forth.

I’m still holding out hope for the A time to series, and some others. Anyone know know why that one Titan book is $16 over the rest of the Titan series? A special version of the ebook? I’m kidding,

For the long time sales followers anout how many Trek ebooks you think have bought for $.99 cents since March 2016? I think all the sales are great. At least on the Star Trek side we sometimes get themed sales, unlike the same stale slate of Star Wars ebooks for $4.99 forever.

A nod and a thanks for appreciation to @Avro Arrow for being a great mod, for his patience. Ignore a mod at your own risk and peril :)

I was just watching the pilot for the Cage the other day thinking the same thing, if this were modern times would Spock really had been made a Devil like creature? In a way, I’m glad and grateful for TV standards and practices, because of creativity we got the Spock that we know. I can’t imagine Spock as a devil like creature having the same endearing longevity as the Spock we got. Leonard Nimoy IS Spock although Peck’s Spock in SNW He does a great job of staying true to the character and being his own originality and justice to the character.

As for Standards and Practices hiding Jeannie’s navel in I Dream of Jeannie was a crazy CRIME. Just nutty if you ask me.

The official Trek sales page just updated.

The ebook prices are good until October 30th 2022.

All the best,

To answer @Koric about how many books I have bought since the 99 cent sales. easily between 2 to 3 hundred, possibly over 4 hundred. I have over 1000 books on my Kindle, and around half are from the Trek sales, although there were also maybe around 20 I owned before they started the sale.

Also thanks for the heads up on Sarek, I didn't have that one yet.

The Spock we got was a "devil-like creature," to the extent that Kirk and McCoy sometimes teased him about his satanic appearance. It wasn't standards and practices that dictated his final look, but makeup tests. They tried him with red skin, but in black and white (which a lot of TV sets still were at the time), it looked like blackface makeup. The greenish-gold makeup mix they settled on was the one that looked best in black and white as well as color.

Anyway, while the TOS pitch document did describe Spock having a "satanic" appearance, I'm not sure that was the sole intent, since pointed-eared aliens were something of a cliche long before Trek. Indeed, pointed ears have been used to symbolize inhuman creatures in art and mythology going back to antiquity, probably because pointed ears are a trait many animals possess and thus it symbolizes inhumanity.

My history with this is that I just picked up all of “The Fall” ebooks in December 2017 (some special deal that month), but my actual monthly buying everything that I don’t already have in eBook during the monthly $0.99 sales didn’t actually start for me until September 2021. So, I haven’t been at it very long (a year). All of this month’s are ones I didn’t have on ebook yet. (The older Pocket Books ones I do also still have in the paperbacks.)

@Koric I wonder if whoever comes up with the monthly promotions is given specific lists he or she can choose from my legal or accounting “bean counters”. Imagined scenario in my head: “Okay, here’s the list of ones we’ve already done at $0.99 and when the last time was. These are all still cleared, so choose five of you eight or nine from here. Okay to choose all three in a trilogy and have it count towards your total as just one but any series four books or longer have to be counted separately. Now, these eight older novels on this other list here, they just got cleared for the first time. Go ahead and pick some off that list, too if you want. Oh, yeah, and that Picard book and that Discovery one that we just released last year? It’s been long enough. We can run those, too, now. They want what, you say? Slings and Arrows? A Time To? Sorry, those still haven’t cleared accounting yet. Try again next month.”

Does anyone know in the UK we’re not now getting all the ebook deals?

It used to be that we only didn’t get the ones that weren’t available in the Kindle store (mainly the older novels) but recently there have been some that are available but not discounted, eg:

Vulcan’s Forge
Vulcan’s Heart
Vulcan’s Soul: Exodus
Sarek

Thanks

That is odd. But if you have a PayPal account, you can use eBooks.com and set it for the US and use PayPal to pay for the eBook. Yes, you'll get ePub, but you can use Calibre to convert to KF8 if you have a Kindle.

Star Trek eBooks are DRM free so you should get ePub without DRM and that will convert for use on a Kindle.
