DVD/blu Ray Release for Season 1?

I may be jumping the gun here, but gotta ask: any word/guess/prediction on when there will be a DVD/Blu Ray release for season 1 of ST: Discovery?

There's no official word.

My guess is not soon, round the time Season 2 premieres at the earliest.
Netflix paid a lot of money for this, I think they'd wanna keep it exclusive for a while.

I hope they're not just bog-standard transfers with no extras; looking forward to some behind-the-scenes, bloopers/outtakes and especially commentaries from likes of Isaacs (if they can afford to get him into recording booth!)

If it does come out on blu-ray anytime soon I'd guess right at the start of season 2. Other shows do something similar.

way too early. But i hope they remaster it to 4K bluray so it is worth buying instead of just streaming it online.

I too think it is still too early to think about this. But as Jaimito I too wish for the Ultra HD 4K release

I agree with the crowd - if/when they release Season 1 it'll be around the time of Season 2's premiere and used as promotion for Season 2 on CBSAA/Netflix, etc. So yeah, probably not until late 2019 - early 2020.

Same, but my guess is they won't be. There are way too many Star Trek fans who are waiting for DVD to watch the show--and way too many who will buy it on DVD anyway for CBS/Paramount to not put on the bells & whistles and sell it for a pretty penny.

It will have no bells and whistles and be sold for a pretty penny anyway.

Netflix bought DSC for international territories, not the US. They'd have no control over a domestic home video release.
