DS9 special effects

DS9 came out over 20 years ago but I am still impressed with the special effects I see. The battle scenes were very well done. The instrumentation panels don't look out of place either. Only the Changeling shape-shifting looks clunky but this is to be expected as morphing is always difficult to do.

Whaaaa...?
Is that one of those "Let's take a few milliseconds out so we can fit in more commercials and no one will ever notice " things?

Just a reminder, nowadays special effects are the practical effects made on set and captured by the camera present on set.
Visual effects are the effects created afterwards on a computer and pasted into the footage (CGI - computer generated imagery).

The morphing effects were CGI, most of the latter seasons used CGI for all the ship battles and such.
