DS9 Relaunch Timeline

I have a couple questions.

Does the Milennium Trilogy contradict anything that was established in the series?

And should it be read before or after the Relaunch?

Also I am a little confused about some of the entries.

Is Gateways #4 a whole book relating to DS9-R? And is Gateways #7 only a collection of stories?

Would I miss much of the Relaunch if I skipped the 'Horn and Ivory' story?

And is the Section 31: Abyss book a core Relaunch novel or only tangentially related?

No. (It was written post-WYLB.)

Either or. The framing story is indeterminate, while the epilogue occurs after the birth of Ben and Kassidy's kid.

Yes.

And is Gateways #7 only a collection of stories?

Yes, but they're each integral to resolving themes and threads begun in the novels (but, except for the TNG one, which is more like a short novel than a novella, have their own distinct "main storylines").

Yes.

And is the Section 31: Abyss book a core Relaunch novel or only tangentially related?

Core.

But the main body of the Millennium trilogy takes place between "The Sound of Her Voice" and "Tears of the Prophets," i.e. just before the end of the sixth season.

You don't need to read it to understand the Relaunch. It's only listed because the framing takes place post-WYLB. But they don't relate to each other

It's a standalone with the Gateways series, so you don't need to read all those books. It's however required for the DS9-R. One plot ends on a cliffhanger, which is resolved in the short story "Horn and Ivory"

Yep. It's quite important for Kira's development

Second of all... that implies that Britney Spears once had talent which has since been lost. Are you sure you wouldn't like to rephrase that, laddie? (Actually I think she'd have a very nice voice if she learned how to use it.)

The DS9 Relaunch is currently up to September 2376. The TNG series (which I've dubbed the "Nemesis Prelaunch") begins in late 2378, I think, since it's supposed to cover the year previous to NEM and that's in late '79 IIRC. The VGR Relaunch is in early '78. New Frontier at this point is, I think, in late '76 or early '77, though the next book will jump forward to post-NEM.

Nothing to pardon, as it's a perfectly reasonable question.

First off, to set context, "What You Leave Behind" was at the end of 2375, "Endgame" was at the end of 2377, and Nemesis was in late 2379.

The post-finale DS9 novels are at fall 2376 as of Unity. The Worlds of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine books will take the story into 2377.

A Time to... takes place from late 2378 to late 2379.

The post-finale Voyager novels are in early 2378.

New Frontier is in late 2376 as of Stone and Anvil, but this year's After the Fall will be jumping forward to late 2379/early 2380.

You didn't ask about these, but what the hell....

S.C.E. is at the end of 2376 as of The Demon, but will be firmly in 2377 within the next few eBooks.

I.K.S. Gorkon is also in late 2376.

Stargazer is in 2333.

The Gorkon novels start together with the events of Twilight
SCE - Cold Fusion takes place between Avatar - Book 2 and Abyss
