DS9’s Trailers

so I was just watching “Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night” on SPACE and I was shocked to see them play the trailer for “Inqusition”, and it was being advertised as “An All-New Episode”. I’m not sure if SPACE meant to air the trailer or not, but it looks like they were airing an old copy from the 90’s that had the trailer on the tape and forgot to cut to an ad, but what a blast from the past. It’s to bad that the trailers weren’t on the DVD’s.

Ha! That's awesome!

One of the things I like about the TNG Blu-Ray sets is that you can choose to play the episode with the original episode trailer. I always choose this option. I love watching the old trailers and listening to the overly dramatic voiceover. "Next time on Staaaaar Trek, The Next generation...." :guffaw:

When we did a viewing a few years back my friends got a hoot out of that line.

I guess having grown up with such things it didn't really register with me. :p

The trailers make me nostalgic for a time that was. DS9's trailers were always awesome, especially in Season 7 with the War on and all.

The DS9 CD Companion collected all the DS9 trailers. Don LaFontaine is sadly missed.
I’ve got the CD-Rom. But considering the videos were encoded for 90’s computers (about 256 color and 160 by 120 resolution) the videos do not look as good as even VHS.

Of course I wish I had had a VHS ready the other night. But I was just watching it.

My recall of the trailers is that there was nothing they wouldn't spoil. The Bashir reveal is in the "In Purgatory's Light" one! They were fun, though. I think TrekCore has them all on YouTube, they could really suck me in for hours of rewatching if I'm not careful...

They do. They did a complete run through of the whole show not too long ago, with longer and shorter versions of the adverts combined into one video for each ep. Good stuff.

I remember the trailer for "Business As Usual". It was hilarious, the camera zooms in on Steven Berkoff's crazy eyes as he warns Quark, "don't cross me Quark, don't ever cross me."

When I was younger, I always loved Star Trek, hadn't actually seen much of DS9...

But this trailer, posted some 12 years ago now changed all that, since this trailer and my subsequent viewing of the entire series, made me a Niner for life.

I know this wasn't an official trailer from the networks, but it's the finest trailer in my opinion, ever produced for DS9.
