Spoilers Droids & Ewok Animated Series

I did a rewatch last year. I saw these as a child but forgot about them entirely. Droids, despite being produced by one of the lousier animation companies of that era, has qualities. The scripts were written by several of the standard bearers for animation of the 80's, and a good number of things have found their way into modern Star Wars productions. Ewoks, on the other hand, is God Awful. I thought the Ewok TV movies were bad, the animated series takes the cake.

Whoops, I misremembered about Boba's weapon. I try not to think too much about the Holiday Special. Though the animated short is the only good part, IMO.

I'm not really inclined to watch the Ewoks cartoon, but does anyone know if it featured anything that came from the Ewoks movies?

...I mean, Luke tossed his in the ocean...

If you're referring to TROS, it landed on a grassy ledge. So if he meant to throw it into the ocean then he didn't use enough, ahem, force.

Not a Bea Arthur fan? Or Harvey Korman? Or elderly Wookie getting horny in the living room?

For what it's worth, Ewoks was the more popular of the two, both in ratings and the toy sales, hence; it got a second season. I only vaguely remember it being fairly inoffensive and kid friendly for the time.

Honestly the animation quality seems a little higher than Droids, and even that wasn't too terrible by comparison when you consider the standards of the time. These shows' contemporaries were the likes of Transformers, He-Man, Care-Bears, and Dungeons & Dragons.

Overall though I think Droids was the more sophisticated of the two, which it's probably why it failed. The kid appeal stuff was clearly shoe-horned in by means of random slapstick, which made the overall tone a little strange. Not easily digestible enough to be appealing for the younger audience, too juvenile for anyone else.
^ I was just kind of perusing through a couple of episodes and they had some stormtroopers armed with some sort of scepters.
Yeah, they had stunner pikes, which would also fire blaster shots if the scene required it. They only showed up a few times and yet still managed to be pretty inconsistent.
