Dressing in period clothes

And it's all a telepathic illusion. In the tag scene, it looks like they never left the ship at all and were still at the Melkotian buoy.

I could have sworn I had that image, no doubts. Ah well, age..... At the risk of being taken down another peg, I will submit Muse, though I admit it's pretty slim.

Don't feel too bad about "Spectre". It's been one of my favorites since it first aired in 1968. Since getting the dvd early this year or last year, I usually watch it more than once a week.

You'd have to elaborate. I don't recall the episode.

In VOY: Muse, Torres inspires a planet's author, who writes a play that is performed in local costumes. Torres might wear one, don't remember. In DS9: The Muse, a woman helps Jake write a novel, but I don't think there are any special clothes.

Sorry about that. DS9 is just about terra incognita for me. Anyway, B'Elanna wears a similar costume to some of the other actors on stage, sort of like a monk's habit, only at the very end when she's about to "ascend to the heavens". As I said kind of slim.

OP never answered my question on whether this about the characters or the actors either, which just makes the topic more difficult to answer.

Apparently the topic is when do we see Starfleet characters wearing something other than the standard uniform or 23rd/24th century casual attire. So, we're not talking about Picard on Risa but we could be talking about Picard in "Qpid" where everyone was dressed in 17th Century clothing.

It doesn't appear to matter if it's real, holodeck, illusion or fantasy.

Data practicing his Shakespeare on the holodeck.

Barclay sword fighting for his maidens on the holodeck.

Janeway in her early holodeck episodes.

Did the Voyager crew get in local costume for the Haven episodes? I think they did.

Data's Sherlock Holmes programs on the holodeck.

In More Trouble with Tribbles, would it be fair to say that Sisko and company were dressed in "period costume?"

Absolutely, but I think you mean "Trials and Tribble-ations". "More Tribbles, More Troubles" was one of the animated episodes.

Voyager: Persistence of Vision (Janeway has her Jane Eyre getup on in her quarters after leaving the holodeck).
